Ngoc Anh was born in 1964 in Ho Chi Minh City. Since childhood, she joined the Tan Binh District Children's Club, toured with the group nationwide and won many solo awards. In 1986, she became widely known to the audience through the song Spring on the oil wells, marking her first steps on the path of professional music.
In a TV show, famous singer Ngoc Anh shared: In the early 1990s, she was a rare singer in the South who won over audiences in the North thanks to the song " Spring by the Window " being broadcast on Voice of Vietnam Radio. At that time, she was busy performing from early morning to late at night, with almost no days off. "There was a time when I only had 15 minutes for an event, 5 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to sing on stage. Many times I was so rushed that I didn't have time to prepare that I had to hold a comb to comb my hair on stage" - the famous singer confided.

Singer Thuy Trang once confirmed this about her colleague. She said that during a performance in Chau Doc (An Giang), Ngoc Anh appeared at all 5 venues. The number of songs Ngoc Anh sang in one night was quite "huge" with about 10 songs at each venue.
Ngoc Anh's income also makes her colleagues overwhelmed. Only about every 2 to 3 days, Ngoc Anh invites Thuy Trang to go to the market to buy gold, and each time she buys, she has to "count the tree, not the thread". In the program Artist's Life , Ngoc Anh also shared the huge amount of money she received when singing at rich people's weddings: "The money given was so much, I couldn't hold it all and had to put it on the stage floor. Sometimes, the wedding restaurant manager had to bring me a plastic bag to "scoop" the money in," Ngoc Anh said.
Thanks to the love of the audience, Ngoc Anh is also one of the first singers in Ho Chi Minh City to buy a car, have a pager and a landline phone. More than 20 years ago, she often used luxury branded goods, from sunglasses, shoes to handbags...
Two troubled marriages
Despite having a comfortable material life, Ngoc Anh was not lucky in marriage. On the show Knock on the Door to Visit House broadcast in 2021, Ngoc Anh shared that her first marriage was loveless. After 5 years, the relationship between husband and wife broke down because her husband "didn't want to have children".

The singer’s second marriage also ended quickly when her daughter was 4 years old. She was betrayed by her partner right after giving birth. Her faith and hope in marriage also faded over the years.
Talking about her second husband, famous singer Ngoc Anh said: "I am very strong-willed and unyielding. If I don't accept it, I will leave. That is a great pain for me. It is sad for my child to not have a father. Sometimes my child also wants to have a father like everyone else. But that's enough, having me as both father and mother is enough."
In 1999, Ngoc Anh left her professional music career in Vietnam to settle in the US. In 2021, she decided to return to Vietnam to tour and shine again on many stages. Currently, the former famous singer enjoys a single life. Although she has passed her prime, she still has a strong passion for her career.
