Báo Dân trí•23/03/2024
(Dan Tri) - Having taken on the role of Chairman in the mock session of the "Children's National Assembly", Dang Cat Tien (born 2009) recently became one of the 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces of 2023.
Impressing with the role of Chairman of the "Children's National Assembly" and impressive achievements In September 2023, Dang Cat Tien (grade 9/3, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang) passed a rigorous selection process to take on the role of Chairman in the hypothetical "Children's National Assembly" session, discussing the prevention of accidents, injuries, violence against children and protecting children in healthy interactions and creative online environments. Holding the role of Chairman in the hypothetical session is not an easy task, especially for a 9th grade student like Dang Cat Tien. However, with her confidence and knowledge, along with the support of the advisory board and the organizing committee, Cat Tien did very well and left a great impression in the Children's National Assembly session with the participation of 263 young delegates from 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam.

Before taking on this special role, Cat Tien also received many different certificates of merit such as: Certificate of merit for outstanding achievements at the 4th National Excellent Team Leader Festival in 2023, Certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee Training Program, Certificate of merit and cup for outstanding achievements in implementing the Thousand Good Deeds movement in Khanh Hoa province 2023, the title of Uncle Ho's Good Grandchild at the city level in 2023, Second prize in the Children's Storytelling Contest according to books in 2023... With her outstanding achievements, most recently, Cat Tien has excelled over many strong candidates to become one of the 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces in 2023. She is also the youngest person to win this noble title this year. This can be considered a great mark to help Tien try to learn and strive even more on the future path ahead. Sharing about her achievements, Cat Tien said: "I feel very happy, happy and lucky to achieve the results I have today. These results are not only due to my own efforts and hard work, but also thanks to the great contributions, care and trust of the locality, school, family and friends. I really appreciate the affection of my uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters and friends for me. This is also the motivation for me to try harder in the future. I would like to thank the leaders, teachers and family for creating conditions, loving and supporting me in the past time".

The key to balancing studying and extracurricular activities It is known that from a young age, Cat Tien was allowed by her family to participate in team activities, practice skills to improve herself, and not be afraid to stand in front of a crowd. Tien also attended gifted classes such as violin, swimming, etc. Although she participated in extracurricular activities very enthusiastically and energetically, Cat Tien always tried to balance, not letting her studies be affected. This female student born in 2009 has always been an excellent student of the school and has achieved almost perfect scores from grade 6 until now, winning first prize in the National Young Historian Contest in 2023; first prize in the English Excellent Student Contest in 2023 organized by Khanh Hoa province; second prize in the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2021; First prize in the Online English Contest,... "I always set myself 3 important keys. First, make a specific plan for each stage. I believe that determining goals and making a specific plan is the key to getting your studies and activities on the right track. Second, prioritize your work: I always try to arrange my time and prioritize my work, along with the harmony between studying and activities. Third, take care of my health is my top priority: I always try my best even though I am busy with work, I never forget to take care of my health, and when needed, I always share and receive support from my family and friends," Tien confided.

Despite having a busy schedule and activities, Cat Tien does not let herself be pressured but always tries to look at everything positively to complete her studies and extracurricular activities in the best way. "Currently, I always try to maximize my abilities and conquer the goals I choose without comparing myself to any role models. Moreover, my family does not put pressure on my academic performance but encourages me to develop to the best of my ability in a comfortable way. I also exercise regularly to have good health and a refreshing spirit to start a new day full of energy," Tien said. During this time, Tien aims to achieve high results in English competitions for excellent students, and hopes to pass the 10th grade English major at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, a prestigious school for educational quality in Khanh Hoa. Furthermore, Tien shares her dream of implementing scientific research support fund projects to contribute to the development of science and technology. I also hope to establish a system of charity houses in the future to help disadvantaged and orphaned children nurture their dreams and ambitions.
