At 58 years old, Hong Van said she is not pressured by age because she believes everyone has to go through that stage. However, the female artist is stricter with herself to maintain her health and youth.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, People's Artist Hong Van freely shared about her current life. She said that in normal life, when there are no performances, she and her husband find simple joys in planting trees, raising ornamental fish, cleaning the house or taking care of pets...

At this age, the female artist admits that her health is showing signs of decline. After the incident of fainting backstage at a theater, Hong Van is more conscious of maintaining her health and avoiding overwork.

Recently, People's Artist Hong Van and her husband Le Tuan Anh have been actively losing weight. The female artist believes that this mainly depends on willpower and determination. Previously, she had lost weight but "not thoroughly" because she thought it was unnecessary.

However, at the present time, Hong Van realizes that losing weight is no longer a matter of beauty or ugliness, but of health. When having grandchildren, the artist realizes that she needs to be healthier to take care of and love her children and grandchildren.

Hong Van revealed that she lost weight from 86kg to 72kg (14kg less), her husband from 126kg to 84kg (42kg less). The female artist said that she mainly lost weight based on the doctor's diet plan, eating lots of vegetables and limiting fattening foods. Her husband combined exercise with a diet according to the doctor's menu.

People's Artist Hong Van is satisfied with her current weight and has no need to lose more. "In the past, I did not dare to attend events or appear in public because I was self-conscious about my appearance. Gaining weight also made it difficult for me to choose what to wear and I was lazy to appear," the artist said.

Currently, the female artist feels more optimistic and confident after losing weight. She doesn't spend much on new clothes, mostly wearing old clothes from when she was younger.

Besides changing her appearance, her mental life also became positive. "My husband and I always encouraged each other to try to exercise and diet. My husband complimented me on my youthful appearance and also complimented himself (laughs)," Hong Van said.

When asked about cosmetic surgery to "hold back age", Hong Van said she has always loved natural beauty. For her, the wrinkles of time help her to be authentic when transforming into a character.

The artist added: "Many people advise me to get a nose job to attract wealth. However, I am afraid of "plastic surgery" because I am afraid of pain and it will affect my acting career. Currently, I have not thought about cosmetic intervention, and the future is unknown."
