Novak Djokovic says "I am the best" in men's tennis

Speaking to the press, Novak Djokovic claimed to be the best tennis player in the world, and shared about his relationship with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

In an interview with The National , Djokovic said: "Confidence always brings me certain results. Of course, I always respect every opponent, but as long as I have confidence, no matter who I have to play against on any court, I feel I am better.

I am the best. I don't think that is arrogance because I always respect every opponent."

Djokovic on age when competing in sports: "Everything has changed in terms of age. 15 years ago, anyone over 30 was considered old, and their career could hardly flourish. But Nadal is 37, I am 36, Federer is 40 and still playing at the top. Sports stars Tom Brady, Serena Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi are the same.

This is an inspiration for young players. They can create a different career, not depending on the age limit. If we take good care of our bodies, we can aim for an extraordinary career."

After the failure in the 2023 Davis Cup, Djokovic will join the Serbian team in the United Cup, at the same time Nadal will participate in the ATP 250 Brisbane International (both taking place in Australia in early 2024). These are tournaments for these two stars to aim for the 2024 Australian Open taking place from January 14-28, 2024.

Sharing with Sports Illustrated magazine, Djokovic also talked about his relationship with Nadal and Federer: "Respect for Federer and Nadal always exists, at least from my side. I really want to become closer. We didn't get along throughout our career, such as off-court issues.

We're not friends either, it's hard to be close when you're each other's biggest rival. We've been on the same stage for years and it would be great if we could just get it all out and sit down and reflect."
