In recent times, Dak Nong agriculture has seen the emergence of professional farming models such as: garden - pond - barn; garden - pond - barn - forest; intercropping; crop rotation...

Many farmers have proactively developed closed, circular farming and livestock models with high professionalism. In these models, livestock waste is used to serve crop production.

By-products from crop production are used to make animal feed. Therefore, developing circular production creates many useful values, contributing to protecting and regenerating the environment.

Mr. Pham Xuan Truong's family in Quang Phu commune, Krong No district (Dak Nong) has over 2 hectares of production. Over the years, Mr. Truong has combined raising fish, goats, silkworms and growing crops such as corn, mulberry, fruit trees, coffee, and sandalwood, bringing high economic efficiency.

According to Mr. Truong, to be self-sufficient in fertilizer for his crops, he built a goat barn, raised silkworms and dug a pond to raise fish. He collected all the waste from livestock farming in one place and treated it with lime after a period of time, mixed with probiotics, and composted it with coffee husks to make organic fertilizer.

Mr. Truong said: “After being composted, manure becomes a source of nutrients for plants, making the soil more fertile. This method helps me get a large amount of organic fertilizer, limit environmental pollution, reduce production costs and increase income.”

In Cu Jut district, professional livestock farming has received local attention and investment priority. In particular, the district has implemented many programs to guide the use of microorganisms to treat livestock waste as organic fertilizer for crop care.

In the area, many models have appeared applying advanced livestock farming techniques according to biosafety and closed livestock farming processes at farms and households.

The Animal Husbandry Department of Cu Jut district has formed many forms of organization in animal husbandry such as: linking with enterprises, establishing cooperatives, cooperative groups, household groups...
