Video: Bac Giang people carry lychees to be weighed early in the morning
From 4am, when it was still dark, dozens of motorbikes carrying lychees were driven by Bac Giang farmers along National Highway 31 to the purchasing points in Bien Dong commune (Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang city).
The number of vehicles increased as time went on. By 5 o'clock, hundreds of fabric vehicles had arrived, the streets were jammed and dyed bright red.
Traders were waiting at many markets to buy lychees from farmers.
Fabric trucks weighing 1-2 quintals are sold for 11,000 - 20,000 VND/kg, while scrap fabric is much cheaper, only 4,000 - 5,000 VND/kg.
The people set a price, then the trader will check the fabric to see what grade it is and then negotiate. If the price is agreed upon between the two parties, the trader will write a ticket with the value and the people will go to the store to weigh it.
People lined up to weigh fabric.
Full baskets of cloth were carried onto the scale.
After being purchased, the fabric will be classified for export or domestic trade.
People shared that this year's lychee harvest was good and the price was good, making everyone happy because a year's hard work was well rewarded.
Despite the busy and hard work, lychee growers always hope to be able to transport lychees to be weighed and sell them well like this year.
