The motorbike taxi driver is fluent in English and remembers math formulas.

The personal TikTok channel of Mr. Ha Van Cong (25 years old, in Pho Yen, Thai Nguyen) posts short videos, recording memorable moments in the daily work of a technology driver.

Many short clips have a strong influence, attracting millions of views from the online community with very natural and cheerful interactions with French, Filipino, Irish passengers...

Before passengers board the car, Mr. Cong will ask them about their destination. During the journey, this technology driver is open-minded, constantly asking many questions and suggesting conversations, especially with foreigners.

Mr. Cong communicated with passengers in English very naturally. Not only that, he also introduced many tourist attractions and places to eat for everyone. Even with Korean passengers, he did not hesitate to greet them in Korean and "showed off" his knowledge of famous Korean music groups.

The charm and wit in the conversations of the technology motorbike taxi driver have created vivid videos about the motorbike taxi profession in Vietnam. From there, the young man helps everyone have a comprehensive view of the work of a technology driver.

Few people know that Mr. Cong used to be a student of tourism and hotel management at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. After graduating from university in 2020, this young man spent time working in the field he studied at a large hotel in Hanoi.

"The starting salary for hotel receptionists is quite low. Meanwhile, we graduated right at the time when the Covid-19 pandemic was raging. There were no tourists, the tourism industry was very gloomy at that time," Mr. Cong shared.

After half a year of resistance, the male graduate took an unexpected turn, becoming a technology driver in early 2022. He succeeded because even in this job, he still tried to promote his advantage as an energetic person throughout his university studies. Cong has a lot of practical experience when he was a student and constantly "rushed" out to work part-time to improve his skills.

During his 4 years in college, Cong worked many different jobs such as checking tickets at a movie theater, working as a waiter at a fried chicken restaurant, selling goods part-time, and even driving a ride-hailing service.

The male driver shared: "When I decided to quit my job in my field of study, at first I thought it would be very simple to try driving a motorbike taxi by the hour to make a living. And then, I would wait for the opportunity to return to my field of study."

Go further with your new job

For over a year now, he has become a genuine technology-based motorbike taxi driver. Working 8-10 hours a day, his income can be up to 12-13 million VND/month.

Mr. Cong thought to himself, the amount of money he earned was already much more than what he earned as a hotel receptionist. However, this Gen Z still worried that the knowledge and skills he had learned over the past 4 years would be meaningless if he just became a simple driver, selling his labor to earn money.

The young driver clearly identified that being a motorbike taxi driver is just a temporary job, and to go further, he needs to have breakthrough directions. Regarding the process of making a video sharing about the job of driving technology, he shared that the job started from the idea that this is also a fertile land, not many people have plowed it.

Cong decided to work as a technology driver and a content creator in his own field of daily activities. He spent time learning about TikTok and Youtube algorithms, and learning how to shoot and edit attractive videos.

After spending all his savings from driving a motorbike taxi to get only 10 million VND, Cong had to borrow more from friends to have enough money to buy a new computer, camera...

The young man is an eloquent person, and has been trained in the field of tourism and hotels. He has equipped himself with communication skills and taken care of hundreds of customers while working part-time as a student. All that knowledge and skills help Mr. Cong to be able to chat gracefully when working as a motorbike taxi driver.

All the videos are recorded randomly, but Mr. Cong himself also has to be flexible in responding to different situations.

"The driver with millions of views" shared: "The most important thing for a trip is safety, getting to and from the destination safely. Even more important, the driver creates a trip filled with comfort and a fun experience for the passengers."

At first, he would chat 2-3 sentences to probe the passengers, if they happily responded, then he would continue the conversation. "When chatting, I often start with harmless questions like about the weather, roads...", Cong said.

In addition to the clips shared, he also encountered some funny and sad situations that he did not have time to record. That was the story of a customer taking a bus from Ho Tung Mau Street (Cau Giay, Hanoi) to Ha Dong to buy a cat. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes without seeing the customer, he thought he was being cheated, but unexpectedly, they even invited him to dinner.

Or when driving a drunk passenger, Cong has to try to drive safely while keeping the passenger from falling off the road.

Because of his friendliness and enthusiasm, Mr. Cong is always trusted by passengers and given many extra bonuses. Along with that, he can take many long-distance trips, taking passengers to the provinces to earn more income.

He tries to record every trip. After returning to his hostel, his post-production and video editing takes 3-4 hours. He constantly updates and builds attractive video content, editing each clip more professionally every day.

In addition to keeping a daily diary, Mr. Cong's two TikTok channels about motorbike taxi have brought him a steady income of more than 10 million VND/month. The more followers he has, the more brands will come to him.

Therefore, the young man's long-term plan is to continue creating content on social platforms. After reaching a certain level of development, he can sell additional accessories for the motorbike taxi profession.
