Sharing on Telegram on September 28, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations (FVV) said that the fire has now been controlled and Tashkent has not recorded any casualties.

However, according to the latest information from the Uzbekistan Ministry of Health, a number of people were injured in the fire and are being treated at local medical facilities. There is currently no specific data on the total number of victims.

After the situation was brought under control, flights to and from Tashkent International Airport resumed normal operations this morning.

According to some sources, the cause of the explosion is believed to be a “strong lightning strike”. However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that a special investigation team has been set up to further analyze the explosion.
