Universities that do not register admission wishes according to the Ministry of Education and Training system

Some universities in Vietnam require candidates to submit their applications online according to the school's own regulations, and do not have to register their wishes on the general admission portal of the Ministry of Education and Training.

RMIT University Vietnam

In 2024, RMIT University Vietnam has 3 intakes: February-March, June-July and October. For the October intake, the application deadline is October 11 or until the program receives enough applications. Candidates fill in the online application form according to the school's regulations.

Each study program has specific admission requirements. In particular, the bachelor's program has academic and English requirements. In particular, the academic requirement is to graduate from high school with an average grade of 7.0/10 points in grade 12 (in case of studying under another international education system, there will be separate regulations).

Regarding English requirements, applicants need to complete the advanced level of the English for University program at RMIT University Vietnam or complete one of the following English certificates: IELTS (academic) 6.5 (no skill below 6.0); TOEFL iBT 79 (minimum score for each skill: reading 13, listening 12, speaking 18, writing 21); Pearson Test of English (academic) 58 (no communication skill below 50); C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency 176 (no skill below 169); or other English results recognized as equivalent according to the school's regulations.

VinUni University

VinUni University recruits candidates who have graduated from high school or equivalent, in Vietnam and abroad. The school does not use the results of the high school graduation exam for admission. The school only conducts preliminary selection based on high school academic results and outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements of candidates, combined with interviews to assess their abilities for admission.

This university opens its enrollment portal for the 2024-2025 school year in 3 phases. Of which, the early enrollment portal opens from October 2023, the regular enrollment portal opens from February 2024. As for the rolling enrollment portal, the application period is from June 15 to August 15, 2024.

Candidates apply online, do not apply by paper documents or email.

Information required in the application includes: personal information; academic achievements; SAT/ACT certificates or subject test scores; valid English proficiency certificates (IELTS, TOEFL) if available; a 400-word essay; non-academic achievements (competitions, sports, music, arts, volunteer activities and any programs you are interested in); recommendation letters from teachers who know the candidate's talents well...

VinUni University is one of the universities that accepts online applications according to its own regulations.

Fulbright University Vietnam

According to the publicly posted admission regulations, Fulbright University Vietnam requires applicants to submit their applications online and does not accept applications sent by post. The application includes: personal information, academic information, activities and awards, and personal products. In addition, applicants also need to complete the scholarship application and financial aid application (if selected).

The university has organized admissions for the 2024-2028 class in the 2023-2024 academic year. For the spring admissions, the application period is from January 8 to April 1, 2024. The announcement of results for early applications (for candidates who do not apply for financial aid) will be in May and the announcement of results for regular applications will be in June 2024. Next, the online interview round is only for candidates who pass the application round and receive an invitation to participate in an interview from the admissions committee.

Regarding admission requirements, Fulbright University Vietnam said that with a comprehensive admission method that does not only consider students based on scores, the school does not set a minimum GPA requirement that a candidate must achieve when applying.

Candidates can be Vietnamese or foreign citizens who are grade 12 students and will graduate from high school (or equivalent) before the time of admission or have a high school diploma (or equivalent).

Before enrolling at Fulbright University Vietnam, applicants must submit an English certificate with a minimum score of IELTS 6.0 (or TOEFL iBT 75, or Duolingo English Test 95), or equivalent. Applicants do not need to submit the above English certificate if they are: native English speakers; have studied a high school program entirely in English continuously for 2 years prior to enrollment; won third prize or higher in English in the provincial-level excellent student competition for high school students (or city-level in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho and Hai Phong) or regional-level at high school level; were selected to participate in the national excellent student competition for high school students of the province/city in English.

Thus, with the above admission method, these universities require candidates to submit online applications according to each school's own regulations, without performing the steps of registering their wishes on the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training.
