Businesses and residential areas expected to lose power tomorrow, June 7

According to the plan of Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), many units, businesses and residential areas will have their power cut at certain times.

Specifically, the State Bank of Vietnam Administration Department (64 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Dong Da District) will lose power from 1-3pm. The Mechanical and Installation Company (Xuan Phuong Ward, Nam Tu Liem District) will lose power from 4-9am.

Cau Giay handicraft area (Duy Tan street, Cau Giay) will have power outage from 8am to 4pm. Part of Bao Tien A Chau Company Limited (Me Linh) will have power outage from 4pm to 5:30pm.

Ha Son Binh Petroleum Company (Ha Dong District) will have no electricity from 8-10am, Minh Chau and Binh An Companies (Son Tay) will have no electricity from 9-1:30pm.

In Dong Da District , alley 157/29 Chua Lang Street and alley 102/44/49 Phao Dai Lang Street are expected to stop supplying electricity to transfer to low-voltage load instead, so there will be a power outage from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In Gia Lam District , part of Yen Thuong commune lost power from 8-9:30 am, part of Mai Lam commune lost power from 2-3:30 pm.

In Thanh Xuan District , alley 64/31, lane 70 Kim Giang and houses N5A, N6C, N6E THNC lost power from 8-10am, X1 Ha Dinh Apartment, alley 168 Nguyen Xien lost power from 10-12pm, alley 55/214 Nguyen Xien lost power from 12-14pm.

In Cau Giay District , Cau Giay handicraft area, Duy Tan street power outage from 8am-4pm.

In Me Linh District , part of Bao Tien Asia Company Limited lost power from 4-5:30 p.m.

In Hoai Duc District , part of An Khanh Commune, companies and units located in the area lost power from 6:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.

In Dan Phuong District , part of Phung Industrial Park lost power from 7am to 11am.

Hanoi is experiencing a prolonged, severe heat wave, causing a sudden increase in electricity consumption. This poses many potential risks of incidents at certain times due to equipment operating in high temperature environments, overloaded power lines and transformer stations. EVNHANOI has increased its staff, on duty 24/7 to be ready to restore power problems as quickly as possible.

To avoid local overloads causing interruptions in power supply, EVNHANOI also recommends that people, agencies, offices, production and business establishments... join hands to use electricity economically and effectively, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment and limit the use of high-capacity equipment during peak hours of the power system, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.

In addition, in the context of severe water shortages in hydroelectric reservoirs, some coal-fired thermal power plants in the system also experienced reduced capacity or breakdowns due to continuous high-speed operation in prolonged hot weather conditions.

Although it is not yet a peak and prolonged heat wave, the electricity consumption of the entire national power system recorded on May 19, 2023 has increased to a very high level of more than 924 million kWh/day - the highest since the beginning of the year and an increase of 10.5% over the same period in May 2022; the maximum consumption capacity has reached 44,600 MW, the highest since the beginning of the year and an increase of 8.5% over the same period in May 2022.

In June 2023, the North is forecast to continue facing heat waves lasting nearly 2 consecutive weeks. It is expected that the load in the North and the national power system may continue to increase even higher in the coming days.
