Musician Xuan Phuong was born in 1973 in Hung Yen. He graduated from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Since 2000, he has been a lecturer at the Military College of Culture and Arts (now the Military University of Culture and Arts). He then continued his postgraduate studies in folklore research at the Institute of Folklore.
Xuan Phuong has the talent to compose many film soundtracks. That is why when mentioning his name, people will immediately think of film soundtracks, the most famous being Mong uoc ky niem xua in Xin hay tin em by director Do Thanh Hai.
During his lifetime, the musician said that Mong uoc ky niem xua was one of the songs that impressed him the most in his composing career.

After the song, he was invited by director Nguyen Huu Trong to compose the soundtrack for the movie Song Ngam. The song Neu Phai Xa Nhau was born and performed by Minh Quan, becoming a hit in the male singer's career.
