According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, from 5:00 p.m. on August 22, universities will announce admission scores based on the 2023 high school graduation exam scores. However, based on enrollment registration data, schools can initially predict admission scores.

Specifically, recently, Dr. Nguyen Trieu Duong, Head of the Department of Undergraduate Training of Hanoi Law University, predicted that the admission score for the school based on high school exam results in 2023 will decrease slightly compared to 2022 in some majors and groups.

Many prestigious universities are expected to reduce their admission scores.

It is predicted that the admission score based on the 2023 high school graduation exam results will decrease compared to 2022 (photo by Trinh Phuc).

The reason is that the enrollment target of Hanoi Law University in 2023 increased compared to 2022 (in 2023, the target is 2,500, an increase of 135 targets; the increased target is for the Economic Law major at the main headquarters and the Law major at the School's Branch in Dak Lak).

In addition, the school implements early admission and announces early admission scores (from May 25) with very high scores for all combinations.

In addition, when registering their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's Admissions System, students have many different options for admission, and choosing to enter Hanoi Law University is just one of many options. Therefore, in reality, the percentage of candidates who are eligible for early admission who register for admission and confirm their admission to the school will not be high.

According to the school's enrollment plan, when the early enrollment methods do not use up all the quotas, this quota will be transferred to the enrollment method based on the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam, so the standard score based on the general high school graduation exam results will also decrease," Mr. Duong predicted.

Providing forecasts on benchmark scores for social science schools, as reference information for candidates when registering for university admission, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) said that the score distribution of this year's high school graduation exam is not much different from 2021, with some subjects having slight fluctuations such as English, History, and Civic Education. This will be an important basis for candidates to consider when making their wishes.

Regarding the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan said that in 2022, the total number of training programs, admission methods, and admission quotas will not change, so the benchmark scores will not be much different from 2021.

According to Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, in recent years, some "hot" majors have had quite high admission scores such as Korean Studies, Japanese Studies, Journalism and Communications, Psychology, and Dual Management.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Principal of Hanoi University, all regular university training programs at the school consider block D1, which means using English, so it is predicted that this year's benchmark score may decrease compared to last year by 0.5-1 point because the score range of this subject has decreased compared to last year.

In the group of pedagogical majors, Mr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen, Vice Principal of Hong Duc University, informed that from 2020 and 2021, the admission score for majors at the school is quite high, from 22 points and above. It is predicted that this year, the admission score of Hong Duc University can be from 22 to 27-28 points, depending on the major.

However, Mr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen also noted that this is only an initial prediction, and the actual benchmark score will depend a lot on the candidates' choices.
