In particular, the school's newly opened majors such as marketing, logistics and supply chain management, financial technology, data science, international business have a very high number of candidates; international programs also attract more candidates than in 2023.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University will enroll 4,366 students, with the high school graduation exam score method accounting for 35% to 45% of the total enrollment target.

Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that the rate of candidates registering for admission to the school based on high school graduation exam scores also increased by 15% compared to last year. Specifically, the number of candidates registered was 42,000, an increase of 6,000 candidates compared to 2023.

The University of Economics and Law (VNU-HCM) also recorded an increase of about 17% in the number of candidates registering for the school, Nha Trang University increased by about 12%, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade recorded 50,500 registration wishes, an increase of 15,000 compared to 2023.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thuy said that the benchmark score for 2024 according to the forecast of Ho Chi Minh City Banking University will remain stable as in previous years. However, it will depend on many factors not only related to the number of wishes but also depending on the results of the candidates' recent combined exam scores.

Master Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Business Relations Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the school's admission score based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores will range from 16 to 24 points. Majors that many candidates are interested in such as marketing, international business, logistics and supply chain, accounting, finance and banking, business administration, food technology, etc. will have an expected admission score of 22 to 24, while some majors will have a score of 16 to 18 points.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that as of 5:00 p.m. on July 30, 2024, the time the online registration portal was closed, the ministry's general admission support system recorded a total of more than 733,000 candidates who had entered their admission wishes, equivalent to 68.5% of the number of candidates registering for the 2024 high school graduation exam.

Compared to 2023 and 2022, the ratio of candidates registering for admission/number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam has increased. Specifically, in 2023, more than 660,000 candidates entered their admission wishes on the system, equivalent to 65.9% of the number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam in 2023; in 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training recorded more than 616,000 candidates registering for university admission, accounting for 64.1% of the number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam in 2022.
