Dieu Linh (from Nam Dinh , 3rd year student at the University of Commerce) shared that before leaving her hometown for the capital, her family prepared rice and vegetables for her to bring. Linh said that on the first day of the holiday, she traveled from Thanh Xuan (Hanoi) to Nam Truc district (Nam Dinh), a distance of more than 100km but it took nearly 5 hours.

"Today is the end of the holiday, I thought the streets would be very crowded but I was quite surprised because the roads were clear so the bus only took about 3 hours to get to Hanoi," Linh said.

According to the reporter's records, this afternoon, the gateway routes to the capital such as Pham Hung, Giai Phong, Nguyen Xien, Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Pham Van Dong,... did not experience any traffic jams.

National Highway 1A, the section in front of Nuoc Ngam bus station at 3:30 p.m. is clear, vehicles move conveniently.

At 4:00 p.m., Highway 1A was more crowded, vehicles moved slowly, and there was no traffic jam.

Many children fall asleep while traveling long distances by motorbike.

Mr. Minh Chuyen (from Ninh Binh ) traveled by motorbike from his hometown back to the capital and was quite surprised when he arrived in the center of Hanoi but there was no traffic jam.

"When I started going, I expected to encounter traffic jams and waiting, but luckily this year there was no traffic jam," said Mr. Chuyen.

An officer from Traffic Police Team No. 14 (Hanoi City Police) working at the intersection of Giai Phong - Do Muoi Street assessed that many people were afraid of traffic jams and wanted to leave early to rest, so they returned to Hanoi since last night (April 30). Therefore, today the number of people returning to the capital has decreased, and there has not been any traffic jam.

The elevated Ring Road 3 towards Mai Dich (Cau Giay) at 4:00 p.m. was crowded with vehicles but there was no traffic jam.

At 4:30 p.m., on the Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway (the section intersecting with the elevated Ring Road 3), vehicles only had to wait for 1-2 traffic lights before entering the capital. Some drivers said this was a rare occurrence on the day people returned to Hanoi after the long holiday.

"After finishing the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, I was quite surprised because the road was clear this afternoon, there was no traffic jam," said Mr. Vu Manh Hung (37 years old, from Vu Thu, Thai Binh).
