Recently, doctors at Hung Vuong General Hospital, Phu Tho, said they had successfully treated a case of dangerous acute myocardial infarction .

It is known that the male patient (60 years old, in Phu Tho) had a history of high blood pressure and smoking for many years, and was hospitalized with severe chest pain. Doctors determined that this could be a warning sign of a dangerous cardiovascular condition.

Through examination and percutaneous coronary angiography, the doctor determined that the patient had severe damage to all three coronary arteries, of which the LCx branch was the main "culprit" causing acute myocardial infarction in this episode.

The balloon angioplasty and covered stent placement procedure was performed promptly and accurately, helping to reopen blood flow through the LCx branch, restoring blood flow to the heart. The stent was successfully placed, covering the entire damaged area, ensuring optimal treatment effectiveness.

After the intervention, the patient's vital signs were stable. The patient was transferred to the Cardiology Department for continued monitoring and rehabilitation treatment, along with a plan to control risk factors well.

Doctors say acute myocardial infarction is a dangerous condition that can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Signs of a heart attack

We think of heart attacks as something from the movies, where a person suddenly clutches their chest and falls over. But that’s not true. Many people only have mild chest pain or discomfort below the breastbone. These symptoms may come and go, and then go away. People who have had a heart attack may not even notice it until other symptoms occur.

The most obvious warning symptom is chest pain. The pain can feel like a pressure on the chest, a stabbing pain, or a feeling of suffocation. The pain can also occur in other locations such as the back, neck, jaw, or lower stomach. Shortness of breath often accompanies chest pain.

Other symptoms may also accompany it, such as cold sweats, vomiting, or mild headaches. When experiencing such chest pain, go to the nearest hospital or to a hospital with an interventional cardiology center.
