Vietnam is among the countries with the highest prevalence of hepatitis B in the world. The rate of hepatitis B vaccination for children and adults is still low, not reaching community immunity.
Newborns vaccinated against hepatitis B within the first 24 hours of birth can be 80-95% effective in preventing mother-to-child transmission of the virus. There are currently many single and combination vaccines available to prevent hepatitis B for children and adults.
