KHMER TIMES. The Cambodian Ministry of Health announced the second human death this year due to infection with the A/H5N1 influenza virus , the patient was a 50-year-old man living in Svay Rieng province.

REUTERS. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) are holding their annual meetings in Africa for the first time in 50 years, under pressure to reform to better support poor countries.

BNN. Fierce fighting between factions in Sudan continued on October 9 when Al-Nau hospital was targeted by artillery fire, killing at least three civilians and injuring dozens.

ARF. Australia and Japan pledge to strengthen cooperation on energy security and climate change in high-level talks.
