Speaking at the Conference on promoting the implementation of economic diplomacy to serve the country's socio-economic development in the last 6 months of 2023 held on the afternoon of July 3, Mr. Le Quang Trung - Vice President of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Shipping Lines said that economic diplomacy in recent years has been effective, notably in actively supporting the activities of businesses.

In particular, Mr. Trung appreciated and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its support for logistics enterprises in international cooperation, development and expansion of transport networks.
Typical examples include supporting Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) to work with ADANI Group (India); connecting MSC shipping line to invest in developing the Can Gio port ecosystem.
Notably, thanks to the active coordination and support of the Vietnamese Embassy in India, VIMC has successfully opened and effectively exploited Vietnam's first intra-Asian container shipping route, connecting from Hai Phong port to Kolkata and the Indian inland shipping route from Kolkata port to Katupali.
The Vice President of VLA expressed his hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies, and ministries and sectors would continue to support businesses in the logistics sector, focusing on developing logistics centers that enjoy incentives such as FTZs (free trade zones) in markets such as Europe, India, and China. At the same time, support Vietnam's export supply chain.
Mr. Trung also said that recently, the Vietnam Logistics Business Association has surpassed many competitors to win the right to host the 2025 Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations - FIATA World Congress 2025 in Hanoi.
“This is a great joy, pride and great responsibility for our country's logistics service industry in the process of implementing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance and increasingly deep international integration. The successful organization of the FIATA World Congress 2025 demonstrates the Association's determination to bring Vietnam's logistics service industry to world-class heights,” Mr. Trung emphasized.

Informing that the FIATA World Congress 2025 is expected to have over 2,000 delegates representing 109 national associations and more than 50,000 logistics enterprises worldwide, the Vice President of VLA expressed his hope to receive the attention and direction of the Prime Minister, the coordination and facilitation of relevant ministries, branches and localities to successfully organize this important event.
Regarding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Quang Trung hopes that the Ministry will support the organization of events and issue visas for delegates attending the conference .
