Some patients suspected of being poisoned by eating bread are being treated at Hoang Tuan General Hospital.
Specifically, on the afternoon of January 25, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Soc Trang province received information about a number of suspected cases of food poisoning due to eating bread. Immediately afterwards, the unit sent forces to coordinate with the Soc Trang City Medical Center to verify at 5 hospitals in the area. According to the records, 30 people were hospitalized for treatment due to eating bread, many of whom showed symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, fever, low blood pressure, etc.
According to the patients, on the afternoon of January 24, they bought bread at a famous bakery on Hai Ba Trung Street, Ward 1, Soc Trang City. After eating bread with pate, pork roll, pork floss, cucumber, etc., by the evening of the same day, many people had stomachaches, diarrhea, fever, etc. and had to be hospitalized.
According to the Soc Trang City Medical Center, on January 25, Hoang Tuan General Hospital (Soc Trang City) received many suspected cases of food poisoning. After treatment, the health of many patients stabilized and they were discharged home. However, on January 26, this hospital continued to record many hospitalizations.
After the suspected food poisoning incident, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Soc Trang province coordinated with relevant agencies to take samples of bread for testing to clarify the cause.
