Nghe An: Highlights on August 30

* On the morning of August 30, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu received a delegation of Youth Unions from Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan, and Bolikhamxay provinces who came to pay a courtesy visit to leaders of Nghe An province.

* According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, this year, all schools in Nghe An will organize the opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m. on September 5, 2023.

* Vu Lan has become an annual holiday to commemorate the merits of parents and ancestors, reminding everyone to cherish what they have, reminding children to always remember the merits of their parents and do filial acts to show their love and gratitude. Regarding this issue, Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Hong - Faculty of History, School of Education, Vinh University.

* This year's Independence Day, September 2nd, coincided with the Full Moon Festival of July, and Nghe An fishermen returned to shore with the joy of a big seafood catch. Some fishing boats earned over 600 million VND.

* The Thai people in Nghe An celebrate the Flower and Fruit Festival on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. For this ethnic community, the Flower and Fruit Festival is not only for fun and eating, but also an occasion to show gratitude to their grandparents, ancestors and those who gave birth to them.

* In June 2023, the authorities ordered steel stakes to be driven in and life buoys to be placed along the canal leading to Do Luong to prevent drowning. However, after only a few months, a series of life buoy chains were stolen by thieves in Yen Thanh district.
