* On the morning of January 21, Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the commune's founding (1953 - 2023), receive the Third-class Labor Medal and announce the Decision on the commune meeting the Advanced New Rural Standards.
Throughout history and before the August Revolution in 1945, Nghi Xuan commune went through many periods with different names. In the years 1945 - 1946, Nghi Xuan was a part of Nghi Phong commune; in the period 1947 - 1953, it was a part of Ngu Hai commune. By the end of 1953, Nghi Xuan commune was established on the basis of separation from Ngu Hai commune. In the historical flow of the nation, Nghi Xuan is proud to be a land of talented people, a homeland connecting and converging all the traditions and good nature of the people of Nghe An.
Nghi Xuan Commune was honored to be awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" by the Party and State twice; 1 First Class Labor Medal, 4 Third Class Labor Medals, 1 Third Class Feat Medal.
Nghi Xuan is honored to be the first commune of Nghi Loc district to meet the new rural standards in 2014. In 2023, the commune was recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President to the Party Committee, government and people of Nghi Xuan commune; presented flowers and a congratulatory painting to Nghi Xuan commune.
On the eve of the New Year of the Dragon, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented 200 gifts worth a total of VND200 million to disadvantaged families in Nghi Loc district.
* From January 16 to 20, 2024, a working delegation of the Military Region 4 Command led by Major General Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 visited and extended New Year greetings to officers and staff of the Martyrs' Remains Collection Teams performing tasks in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Wishing a Happy New Year to the officers and staff of the gathering teams of the Military Commands of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 acknowledged and commended the officers and staff in the process of performing their duties.
Up to now, the teams collecting martyrs' remains of Military Region 4 have searched for and collected 80 martyrs' remains in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, of which: The team collecting the remains of Nghe An Province Military Command collected 45 martyrs' remains, the team collecting the remains of Ha Tinh Province Military Command collected 7 martyrs' remains and the team collecting the remains of Quang Binh Province Military Command collected 10 martyrs' remains.
* On the afternoon of January 21, at VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing 2024". Attending the program were representatives of provincial departments, branches, management boards of economic zones, industrial parks and nearly 1,700 union members and workers.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, from the operating budget of the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union and the support of businesses and sponsors, the Dong Nam Nghe An Economic Zone Trade Union has allocated more than 1 billion VND to organize activities to care for and support Tet, including giving gifts to more than 1,100 workers in difficult circumstances to overcome difficulties in life and work.
* Contrary to the annual rule, the construction materials market in Nghe An at the end of the year continues to be gloomy, difficult to sell even though the construction season has been in progress for several months; many items are in large backlog such as bricks, cement, stone, sand, etc.
According to experts, recently, public and civil construction projects have decreased, have not started or are only in the early stages, so the demand for construction materials such as sand, bricks, and cement is low. Meanwhile, projects such as the North-South Expressway, coastal roads, and N5 road section Tan Ky... are nearing completion, so the demand for construction materials has decreased.
* On the morning of January 21, the activities of Nam Can border market and the increase in the number of trucks passing by caused traffic congestion on the main road of Nam Can commune.
The leader of Nam Can Commune People's Committee said that at the Nam Can border market at the end of the year, the number of people and vehicles participating increased many times compared to normal days, especially private cars. In addition, the increase in trucks carrying goods and trucks carrying ore from Laos caused traffic jams to occur frequently.
Currently, to resolve the traffic congestion, the government and functional forces are making efforts to divide lanes and regulate traffic to clear congestion points.
