The Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri province will take place in mid-December 2024.

(Fatherland) - On the afternoon of November 6, in Dong Ha city ( Quang Tri province), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival.

Attending the meeting were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Festival Steering Committee; Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Festival Steering Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture and representatives of provinces and cities participating in the festival.

As planned, the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival is expected to be held in Quang Tri province from December 14-17 with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups with equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world ".

Participating in the Festival are 16 provinces and cities: Bac Giang , Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Vinh Phuc and Quang Tri.

At the Festival, there will be activities such as: Opening art program; Mass art festival; Traditional ethnic costume performance; Performance, introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals of local ethnic groups; Exhibition to introduce and promote local traditional culture; Display, processing and introduction of traditional ethnic cuisine; Sports activities and ethnic folk games; Photo exhibition "Ethnic minorities of Vietnam accompanying the development of the country"; Exhibition "Cultural colors of Vietnamese ethnic groups"...

The organization of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival is a meaningful activity to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups in general, and Quang Tri province in particular. It creates conditions for localities, artisans, actors, athletes, and ethnic minority communities to exchange, learn, and share experiences, contributing to raising awareness and consciousness in preserving and maintaining national cultural identity, building and defending the Fatherland.

Regarding the preparation work, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province, said that after receiving the plan from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this unit has consulted with relevant departments, branches and localities to synthesize and submit to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to issue an implementation plan. In addition, it has coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to give comments on the Regulations on mass cultural and artistic activities and community tourism within the framework of the festival.

In addition, the schedule of activities and scripts for the opening and closing ceremonies have been developed. The logo for the festival has been designed. The overall perspective of the exhibition booths has been drawn up. Suitable locations have been selected to organize activities within the framework of the festival. Through this meeting, Quang Tri province hopes to receive more comments and contributions from delegates. Especially the sharing of experiences from provinces and cities that have organized ethnic cultural festivals.

Attending the meeting, delegates contributed some ideas such as: Suggesting to shorten the organization time to suit the actual situation; Suggesting to change some details in the script of the opening and closing art programs; Suggesting to identify the logo and some content of the activities. Suggesting to further promote communication work for the festival...

Receiving the opinions of the delegates, Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, said that this is the first time Quang Tri province has organized the Festival of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures, so not only in this meeting but also before the festival, the locality hopes to continue to receive more comments and additional opinions from agencies and units. These comments will help the province complete the final stages to best prepare for the festival. The locality also pledged to provide maximum support to the units throughout the festival.

In her concluding remarks at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated and basically agreed with the opinions of the delegates. According to the Deputy Minister, the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival is an important event, therefore, in the organization process, it is necessary to promote creative ideas, demonstrating the requirements, purposes and meanings of the festival.

There is not much time left to prepare for the festival. Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy hopes that in the coming time, localities will continue to actively and closely coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Quang Tri province so that the festival can be successfully organized.
