The temperature in the early morning or at night is often low, if you take a bath at this time, the body will automatically adjust by constricting or dilating blood vessels to retain or release heat. When blood vessels suddenly constrict, it can easily cause a stroke due to cerebral infarction, or a sudden coronary spasm leading to acute myocardial infarction. This condition is common in people with a history of atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and other cardiovascular diseases.
According to traditional medicine, stroke is described in the syndrome of apoplexy, caused by external evils (usually wind evil) taking advantage of the body's weakened vital energy, and the protective energy inadvertently invading the meridians, causing blockage of the meridians, and blood and qi not flowing, causing apoplexy.
Based on the above mechanism of stroke, it can be seen that washing hair (showering) early or late at night both have potential risks to health.
According to recommendations, to prevent the above risks, you should form the habit of bathing early, especially on hot days when the body is easily tired and has reduced resistance.
The best time to shower is in the morning or before 8pm in the evening. For those with a history of stroke or angina due to coronary spasm, you should shower after 9am and before 4pm, when the weather is still warm and sunny. Absolutely do not shower after 11pm. From 7pm onwards, if you wash your hair, you should wash it with warm water and dry it thoroughly before going to bed.
When bathing, avoid pouring water on your body or head suddenly because it will cause your body to suddenly cool down, which can easily cause a stroke.
