The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a decision to recognize the results of the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2024) in Vietnam. The UPU International Letter Writing Competition with the theme: Over the past 150 years, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) has served more than 8 generations of people around the world. Since then, the world has changed a lot. Write a letter to future generations to talk about the world you hope they will inherit.
Accordingly, the letter of Nguyen Do Quang Minh - a student of class 9/1, Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School (Cam Le district, Da Nang city) won first prize in this year's contest.
As a student majoring in History, winning first prize at the competition made both family and school happy.

Sharing with PV of GD&TĐ Newspaper, Nguyen Do Quang Minh said that the content of the letter he wrote will be transforming into a postal employee working at Santa Claus village and directly reading letters sent by children all over the world.
"I wrote a letter to the UPU Director General 150 years later with the hope that he would continue to read letters sent by children around the world, thereby bringing happiness to children.
Because in a society where technology is developing, few people write letters by hand anymore, as well as in a society where people are gradually distancing themselves from each other, writing letters by hand will help create a bond between people. In addition, writing letters by hand is like a time when the writer can confide in themselves, so I want that even in 150 years or however long it takes, Santa Claus will still exist with children so that children have a place to send their dreams and wishes", Quang Minh shared.

Nguyen Do Quang Minh won first prize in the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2024).
Nguyen Do Quang Minh said that he wants to send a message to everyone, especially his peers, that instead of texting, they should send each other handwritten letters so that each time a letter is sent, the writer can improve himself.
“I want the future generation to inherit the great tradition of letter writing that the past has left behind, from the love letters of young men to girls or the letters from family that made fearless soldiers shed tears. So no matter how much time passes, I still want the future generation with modern technology to still give each other those emotional lines on paper,” Quang Minh confided.
Quang Minh continued: “Joy and happiness are what I have now. Thanks to the help of teachers at school, I won a high prize in this competition. My dream in the future is to become a graphic design engineer. I will try my best to make my dream come true.”
