Statistics from the results of the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year show that many students from non-specialized high schools won prizes.

Among these are many district schools, even remote districts of the provinces.

District school with many excellent students

In this statistic, Tuoi Tre Online excludes non-specialized high schools but have specialized classes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. There are many high schools that have 1 prize so we do not include them in the list.

Notable among these is Dong Du Secondary and High School (Dak Lak) with 9 students winning national excellent student awards.

This school contributed 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 7 consolation prizes to the achievement of 72 national excellent student awards of Dak Lak student delegation this year.

Chi Lang High School (Gia Lai) also achieved high results when it won 5 national excellent student awards. Two 11th grade students of this school won a second prize and a third prize in physics. The remaining students won consolation prizes.

Meanwhile, many students from high schools located in remote districts in many provinces won national excellent student awards. Not only that, the awards that some students from these schools achieved were the highest in the province.

For example, the highest achievement of the excellent student delegation of Soc Trang province this year is second prize. And the student who won second prize of excellent student of Soc Trang province is not from a specialized school but is a student of Thuan Hoa High School, Chau Thanh district.

Another student from this school won the consolation prize in literature. Dai Ngai High School in Long Phu district had two students winning the prize.

Similarly, the highest achievement of Tra Vinh province is three third prizes. One of these comes from Tra Cu District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities. One of the two second prizes (the highest achievement) of Vinh Long province comes from students of Tra On High School.

Nearby, Tien Giang province had four second prizes. However, only one prize was won by a student from Tien Giang High School for the Gifted. The remaining three prizes came from students from Cai Be, Truong Dinh and Cho Gao High Schools.

Ho Chi Minh City has 7 candidates for the Olympic team selection exam.

Considering non-specialized high schools with specialized classes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Chu Van An High School (Hanoi) has the highest number of students winning national excellent student awards with 23 awards.

Another school in Hanoi with a specialized class is Son Tay High School, which has 5 excellent student awards. Both of these schools have just been approved by the Hanoi People's Committee to become specialized schools from January 15, 2025.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Dinh High School has the highest number of national excellent student awards among high schools with specialized classes. Gia Dinh High School won 11 awards, Nguyen Thuong Hien 4 awards and Mac Dinh Chi 3 awards.

Among them, Mac Dinh Chi High School has a student who won first prize in the national excellent student competition in chemistry with a score of 29.5.

Ho Chi Minh City has 7 candidates participating in the 2025 Olympic team selection exam scheduled to be held in March 2025.

Of which, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted has 5 students: 2 math, 1 physics, 1 chemistry and 1 biology. Gia Dinh High School has one physics student; Mac Dinh Chi has one chemistry student.

According to the Department of Quality Management of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who win prizes in subjects will be called to participate in the 2025 Olympic team selection exam if they achieve the following scores: 24 points or higher in math, 26.75 points in physics, 25.875 points in chemistry, 25.5 points in biology, and 16.34 points or higher in information technology.
