Effective from July 1, 2024, Decree 73/2024 clearly stipulates the bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, and teachers based on outstanding work achievements and the results of the assessment and classification of the annual task completion level of each salaried person in the agency or unit.
The annual bonus fund is outside the reward fund as prescribed by the Law on Emulation and Reward, determined by 10% of the total salary fund (excluding allowances) according to the position, title, rank, level and military rank of the subjects in the salary list of the agency or unit.
Thus, the Tet bonus level of cadres, civil servants and teachers will be high or low depending on the scale and bonus fund of each school.
To date, many schools nationwide have completed the plan to pay the 2025 Lunar New Year bonus according to Decree 73.
How much money do teachers get in the first year of receiving Tet bonus?
Mr. Le Huu Han, Principal of Thanh Da High School, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the school's total bonus fund from July 1 to December 31, 2024 is more than 460 million VND, divided equally among 104 employees to get the average. Those who complete excellently will receive a bonus of 1.2 times this amount, those who complete well will have a coefficient of 1 and those who complete will be 0.5. Teachers will receive a Tet bonus of about 5-6 million VND.
Ms. Doan Thi Kim Dung, Principal of Nguyen Hue High School (Ninh Binh) said that the school has established a year-end reward policy based on three levels of employee classification: completing tasks, completing tasks well and completing tasks excellently. With 445 million VND/72 employees, each teacher can receive from 3 to 7.5 million VND.
In the year-end review, the school had 2 individuals who completed their tasks, 55 individuals who completed their tasks well, and 15 individuals who completed their tasks excellently. Those who completed their tasks received a one-time bonus of this level, those who completed their tasks well received a coefficient of 2.3 and those who completed them excellently received a coefficient of 3. The bonus levels were more than 2 million apart.
This year, Chuong Duong Secondary School (Hanoi) received about 400 million VND in bonus funds, equivalent to 10% of the salaries of 56 teachers for 6 months.
The school evaluates teachers by monthly scores. The average monthly scores are aggregated to be classified by quarter, semester or year. Based on internal spending regulations and evaluation and classification criteria, the school divides the reward coefficients into 1, 2 and 2.5, respectively, multiplied by the base salary. About 10 teachers are classified as excellent, receiving a bonus of 5.85 million VND, the rest who have performed well receive nearly 4.7 million.
Teacher Quang Thi Xuan, Vice Principal of Muong Lan Primary Boarding School (Sop Cop, Son La Province) informed that before Decree 73, teachers at the school only received symbolic "Tet bonuses" from the annual savings fund, averaging 500,000 VND. This year, for the first time, teachers received legitimate Tet bonuses according to regulations.
Accordingly, the school received a bonus fund of 345 million VND/78 staff, teachers and employees. Each teacher can receive from 3-7 million VND. The bonus amount varies, depending on the level of task completion of each individual.
