The “Giọt hồng” award has become an award to honor the beauty of love, responsibility, and dedication to the community of leaders, managers, and groups.
Expressing his gratitude for the contributions of the leaders, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh - Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion shared: "Perhaps, there is no award greater and more valuable than the recognition of the social community and patients for the leaders and managers of the agencies and units organizing blood donations who have joined hands with us to save hundreds of thousands of patients in the past year."
In 2024, our country will receive over 1.7 million units of blood. Of which, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion alone will coordinate with other units to receive over 505,000 units of whole blood and platelets separated from one donor.
And from this amount of blood received, over 800,000 units of blood and blood products were prepared to supply 183 hospitals and medical facilities in 31 provinces and cities across the country.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health acknowledged that although 2024 had many difficulties and challenges, especially natural disasters, blood donation work had achieved very encouraging results, and at the same time hoped that localities would learn and share experiences together.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee selected and awarded the “Giọt hồng” Award to 25 outstanding groups and 10 individuals. Hanoi Medical University is one of 3 units belonging to the University, Academy, College, Secondary School… to receive the “Giọt hồng” Award this year.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Thi Kim Thanh - Vice Principal of Hanoi Medical University shared: "Staff, lecturers, students and trainees of the school are the ones who directly participate in medical examination and treatment. More than anyone else, they understand the value of each unit of blood.
Blood donation has also become one of the KPIs of the school's staff and lecturers. Taking the opportunity to donate blood and then continue working, the actions of doctors and nurses also make patients' families admire and follow suit. The spread of voluntary blood donation starts from the small actions of each person."
The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said that in 2025, the Institute plans to receive about 510,000 units of blood to prepare products for medical facilities treating patients.
To meet the blood supply and continue to develop blood donation work to be increasingly high quality, effective and sustainable, there are important contributions from leaders and managers who continue to direct and facilitate coordination with the Institute to jointly contribute to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.
