The parade consists of three groups: The first group is commanded by the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; the second group is led by the Chief of the Navy; the third group is commanded by the Chief of Military Region 2 Command. The rest stop consists of 253 vehicles and over 3,000 people.
Participating in welcoming the delegation, Ms. Doan Thi Tang, 85 years old, residing in residential group 3, Muong Ang town shared: “I have welcomed the troops many times as well as participated in seeing them off, but this time still makes me the most excited. Because this is to welcome the troops to Dien Bien to participate in the parade, marching to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, a great celebration of the province and the country”.
Ms. Lo Thi Thu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Le village, Ang Nua commune, said: "As a young generation today, I am very proud and excited to have contributed a small part towards the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory."
Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, a member of the parade and marching group of the Women's Military Band, Army Ceremonial Group happily shared: "This is the first time I have participated in a parade on a major national holiday, I feel very honored and proud. Although we traveled from Hanoi at 3am, no one felt tired because wherever we went, we were warmly welcomed by the cadres and people. Arriving in Muong Ang, witnessing the thoughtful and warm welcome of the people on both sides of the road made us forget all our tiredness!"
