Every year, the Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang province, a traditional sport of the Khmer people in the South, always attracts a large number of people and tourists inside and outside the province.

According to the Organizing Committee of the Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang Province in 2023, it is estimated that over 100,000 fans and tourists will be present directly on the Maspéro River to watch the matches. In addition, over 400,000 spectators will watch the Ngo Boat Race on small screens broadcast live on television.

Recorded at the stands on November 26 and 27, tens of thousands of fans and tourists crowded and stood on both banks of the Maspéro River to watch the Ngo boat teams compete.

The 2023 Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang province attracted 46 Ngo boat teams (40 men's teams and 6 women's teams) to compete. In addition to the host Soc Trang teams, there are also teams from Bac Lieu province, Ca Mau province, and Can Tho city.

The boat teams will compete in two events: 1,200m (for men) and 1,000m (for women). Accordingly, on November 26, the teams will be divided into groups and compete in a round-robin to select the best teams to advance to the next round.

The prize structure includes: For men's competition, first prize is 200 million VND, second prize is 150 million VND, third prize is 100 million VND and fourth prize is 80 million VND; For women's competition, first prize is 150 million VND, second prize is 100 million VND, third prize is 80 million VND and fourth prize is 50 million VND.
