This morning, the sky of Ho Chi Minh City and some southern provinces continued to be covered with dark clouds. Many people hoped that rain would come to dispel the hot, humid air that has lasted for many months. However, the clouds then dispersed and were blown away by the wind like on April 13, a day when it was forecasted to rain. Yesterday, hot thunderstorms appeared in the early morning and dissipated at noon. By early afternoon, satellite images showed that thunderstorms had reappeared in Dong Nai province. However, by the morning of April 14, there had still been no hot thunderstorms and the intense heat continued.

Ho Chi Minh City is cloudy in the early morning and late afternoon but there is no rain yet.

Yesterday, the Southern region had hot weather, some places had extremely hot weather with the highest temperature being Dong Phu (Binh Phuoc) 38.5 degrees Celsius, Tay Ninh 37.3 degrees Celsius, Ta Lai (Dong Nai) 37.5 degrees Celsius...

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts: Today and tomorrow, the heat wave will continue to intensify across the South. Particularly severe heat waves with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius may occur in Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong and Dong Nai. Tay Ninh will also reach 39 degrees Celsius.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the temperature is commonly 38 degrees Celsius. In the western and northwest regions such as District 12, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, the temperature can reach nearly 39 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature is 35 degrees Celsius in Can Gio. Districts 2, 7, Binh Chanh, Nha Be have temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius.

The Mekong Delta provinces such as Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Soc Trang have temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius.

After a period of intense heat, a lot of water evaporates, causing the humidity to increase, so the heat begins to feel very uncomfortable. The forecast temperature in weather reports is often 2 - 4 degrees Celsius lower than the actual outdoor temperature. Recently, in Ho Chi Minh City, especially in the central districts, the outdoor temperature is sometimes 5 - 6 degrees Celsius higher than the meteorological temperature and reaches a record high of 43 degrees Celsius, or even higher depending on the conditions of the surface such as concrete and asphalt.

In addition to the Southern region, the Northwestern region has hot and extremely hot weather, some places are especially extremely hot with the highest daily temperature commonly ranging from 36 - 39 degrees, some places over 39 degrees such as: Yen Chau (Son La) 40.3 degrees Celsius; Muong Lay (Dien Bien) 38.7 degrees Celsius, Muong Te (Lai Chau) 38.5 degrees Celsius...

Currently, the Indo-Burma low pressure system in the west is still active. In the next few days, it will continue to strengthen and encroach on the east, affecting many parts of our country, causing a widespread heat wave.
