The victim later died. The incident was reported to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and local police. The body was handed over to the authorities for an autopsy. On the afternoon of June 28, the woman was taken back to her hometown in Ca Mau for funeral arrangements.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health believes that underground cosmetic surgery is not a new problem but is a challenging phenomenon for management agencies. Worryingly, underground cosmetic surgery tends to move into hotels, motels, etc. to avoid state management agencies.

In fact, there have been people without a license who secretly performed cosmetic surgery and caused complications and even death.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it has strengthened management and control of cosmetic surgery activities, inspected and strictly handled unlicensed facilities that do not meet safety and quality standards as prescribed.

At the same time, strengthen coordination with departments and localities to prevent and promptly detect illegal cosmetic activities in the area; strengthen management at hotels, residential areas, etc. to promptly detect illegal cosmetic activities.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health proposed to soon put into operation the software for declaring residence according to the provisions of the Law on Residence at hotels and rental apartments.
