According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on November 26-27, heavy rains continued in the area from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh. Rainfall in the two days was generally 100-200mm, with some places over 300mm.
In Quang Tri, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, thunderstorms also appeared but the rainfall was smaller, ranging from 60-120mm, with some places having over 180mm. Meanwhile, in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and the eastern part of the Central Highlands, there was moderate rain of 30-70mm, with some places having heavy rain of over 100mm.
From November 27, heavy rain in the areas tends to decrease rapidly.
The meteorological agency warned people to be on guard against the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding of rice fields and crops in low-lying areas. At the same time, heavy rain in a short period of time caused flooding in urban areas.
In addition, in the South, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, scattered thunderstorms concentrated in the late afternoon and night. Rainfall is 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
Due to the influence of high tides, low-lying areas, riverside areas, and areas outside the dike system in the coastal areas of the Southeast region are likely to be flooded in the early morning and afternoon. This phenomenon also increases the risk of saltwater intrusion in rivers in the Southeast region.
