Metro Line 1 races to the finish line after 50 days and nights

The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board launched a peak competition "50 days and nights to complete the task of putting urban railway line No. 1 into official operation in 2024".

On the morning of October 28, at the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week, Mr. Phan Cong Bang, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board ( Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board ) officially launched the peak emulation campaign "50 days and nights to complete the task of putting urban railway line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) into official operation in 2024".

Heavy duty but also proud

According to Mr. Bang, Metro Line 1 is the first urban railway line in Ho Chi Minh City. After the project was approved, the Urban Railway Management Board (investor) closely coordinated with foreign agencies, central ministries, departments, and city departments to carry out procedures to implement the project.

To date, the project has basically completed construction, equipment installation on site, and training of train drivers and operators. According to the direction of the city's leaders, metro line No. 1 must complete procedures to be officially put into operation in 2024.

"This is an extremely difficult and challenging task, but it is also a great source of pride, demonstrating the trust of the city's leaders in the collective of civil servants and employees of the Urban Railway Management Board and Urban Railway Company No. 1," said Mr. Bang.

To ensure the completion of this task, from now until December 20, the Urban Railway Management Board and Urban Railway Company No. 1 will have to carry out a huge amount of work.

"Never before has the Urban Railway Management Board No. 1 needed the efforts, solidarity, creativity and urgency of the entire system like now," Mr. Bang affirmed.

Working at 200% capacity

With the launch of a 50-day peak emulation campaign to complete the task of putting metro line 1 into operation in 2024, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board must issue a specialized Resolution on implementing the remaining work of the project to promptly direct Party cells and Party members, mobilizing the strength of the entire Party Committee with the determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges.

Speaking with Giao thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Phan Cong Bang said that currently, the construction work on metro line 1 has basically been completed, only a few small items are being constructed by contractors, and it is expected that equipment installation will be completed by October 31.

The unit is simultaneously implementing tasks such as fire prevention and fighting acceptance, system safety assessment, testing, inspection, State Council acceptance...

The Ho Chi Minh City Railway Management Board is striving to complete all work before December 15, ensuring the operation of metro line 1 in 2024.

"The current workload is still very large, we need to have a competition for all officials and workers to make efforts, work at 200% productivity to solve it. The project has no time to delay, therefore, we really need the companionship, efforts and determination of the entire system," said Mr. Bang.

Mr. Bang said that through the actual inspection, the CP2 package (building the overpass system) is progressing well, with a commitment to speed up the progress to complete before October 30; the CP1A package has also completed fire prevention work, and the Fire Police Department has accepted the acceptance results. These are positive signals, demonstrating the efforts and attempts for the common task.

The leaders of the Urban Railway Management Board requested that heads of departments, offices, and Urban Railway Company No. 1 thoroughly grasp and implement emulation contents; enhance the role and responsibility of unit leaders, set an example, direct and operate to mobilize combined strength.
