Money dispute, shot and killed opponent

On October 14, information from Hai Phong City Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of Le Chan District Police is temporarily detaining Nguyen Huu Thang (26 years old, residing at 14/136 Cao Thang, Ha Ly Ward, Hong Bang District, Hai Phong City) to investigate the act of illegally storing military weapons and shooting at others.

Nguyen Huu Thang and the revolver used to commit the crime

Previously, at 8:00 p.m. on October 7, Thang went to Ms. PTN's house (49 years old, residing at Lot 1, An Duong Workers' Area, Le Chan District, Hai Phong City) to settle a previous debt. While talking, the two sides argued loudly with each other, and when they saw Ms. PTN calling someone, Thang quickly left.

Thang returned home, carrying a revolver and 4 bullets, then invited 2 more people to return to Ms. PTN's house.

At around 8:45 p.m. the same day, Thang's group went to Pham Huy Thong Street (near Ms. PTN's house) and encountered a group of 4 people, including Ms. PTN, who were standing and talking. There, a scuffle broke out between the two sides, and Thang suddenly opened fire and shot down one person in the opposing group.

During the investigation, Nguyen Huu Thang handed over a revolver (a military weapon) to the police.

On October 9, the Investigation Police Agency of Le Chan District Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Nguyen Huu Thang for illegal possession of military weapons to continue investigating and clarifying the case.
