Delegates attend the groundbreaking ceremony of Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port project

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Duc Trong , Permanent Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan, General Director of Saigon New Port Corporation; representatives of departments and branches of Tay Ninh province; leaders of Saigon New Port Corporation; Tay Ninh New Port Joint Stock Company and partners, customers, and shipping lines.

Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port is located in the Moc Bai port economic zone, in Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province, with a total area of ​​16.52 hectares, invested by Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company with a total cost of 552 billion VND. The project includes a container yard, CFS warehouse, control, parking and storage area... with modern equipment including 3 RTG 6+1 cranes, 5 forklifts/empty trucks, 50 tractors, 50 trailers...

At the ceremony, Mr. Vo Duc Trong, Standing Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, said that the locality is focusing on adjusting the planning project to develop Moc Bai as an industrial, urban, commercial, tourism and logistics service center in the shortest time. When the Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port project comes into operation, it will partly meet the needs of the border economic zone, the driving force to promote border trade and logistics services, contributing to the completion of the infrastructure of Moc Bai border economic zone and the economic development of the locality.

At the ceremony, Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement with Happy Group Vietnam Joint Stock Company and JCC Foodstuff Joint Stock Company.

It is expected that by May 2024, Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port will be put into operation and provide full services, such as: Checking and completing customs procedures for import and export goods by container; temporary storage of import and export goods and containers; repairing and maintaining containers; receiving and delivering other goods (bulk cargo, general cargo, etc.); consolidating and dividing LCL cargo for common owner goods (LCL cargo) in the same container; packing and unloading goods from containers; transporting containerized goods from dry port to seaport and vice versa; receiving and sending goods transported by container.

Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan, General Director of Tan Cang Saigon Corporation, said: Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port is the 28th facility in the system of port facilities and logistics service infrastructure under the Tan Cang Saigon brand nationwide and is the first dry port of Tan Cang Saigon associated with the border gate. Since 2016, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation has established Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company to provide full logistics services to customers, industrial parks in Tay Ninh province and serve goods transiting Cambodia through Moc Bai border gate. Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port project is an important step, demonstrating Tan Cang Saigon's determination to invest in a synchronous and modern ecosystem in port exploitation, logistics services, and marine economic services, contributing to the successful implementation of Tan Cang Saigon's mission of "Connecting the circulation of goods, developing the marine economy, enhancing the national brand, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland".

On this occasion, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation donated 200 million VND to the "For the Poor" fund of Tay Ninh province; Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company donated 50 million VND to the "For the Poor" fund of Ben Cau district.

Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port is developed under the "One-stop, one-stop" method between Vietnam and Cambodia within the framework of the GMS - CBTA Agreement dated March 6, 2006. As a centralized customs clearance point, when put into operation, businesses will complete customs procedures at Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port, shortening the customs clearance process at border gates and seaports, improving the efficiency of inspection of import and export goods of the customs sector between Vietnam and Cambodia. In addition, when shipping lines open codes at the dry port, customers can purchase sea freight combined with multimodal transport (sea and road) to and from Tan Cang Moc Bai dry port directly, helping to simplify customs procedures.
