"Mai Vang Tri An" presents gifts to musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien

Musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien is highly appreciated for his musical activities as well as his more than 10 years of participating in the Art Council of the Mai Vang Award.

Mr. Bui Thanh Liem - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and Mr. Vo Hoang Hai - Deputy General Director of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, presented the " Mai Vang Tri An" gift to musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien worth 20 million VND.

Musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien received honor from the program.

Musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien said: "This is an honor for me. I am very touched! I have accompanied the Mai Vang Award of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for many years with the spirit of respecting readers' opinions. I think this is the only award that takes readers' opinions. I thank Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the " Mai Vang Tri An" program for bringing us artists this precious spiritual and material gift!"

Despite his old age, he still holds the important position of Executive Committee Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association.

Musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien, 72 years old, entered medical school but still actively participated in art competitions. His passion grew over time so he practiced composing. In 1989, he passed the entrance exam to the Composition Department at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and decided to study at two schools at the same time.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, during his time in the medical profession, he successively held the positions of examining physician, deputy head of department, and then head of dental department. He also conducted many valuable research projects for the medical industry at that time. He was awarded the title "Excellent Physician" by the state.

In his music composing career, he is the author of many innocent, pure and romantic love songs such as: "Oh, my beloved life", "If you are my lover", "Farewell to my first love", "The sulky girl"...

In music, musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien always gives the audience positive energy. He confided that there was a time when he wondered why Vietnamese music was so sad. Meanwhile, in the world there are many happy and good songs that are still well received? And from that, he wrote his own songs. In them there is innocence, purity and also the positive aspects of brokenness and anger in love.

He has published two collections of songs and some songs have been released on audio and video tapes. He is a member of the group "Friends". Has published a collection of Nguyen Ngoc Thien's music and accompanying cassette tapes (DIHAVINA and the Vietnam Musicians Association).
