TPO - The key project to expand Tan Ky Tan Quy Street (Tan Phu District) is slow to relocate the electrical system, causing many poles to block the road and cables to sag to the ground, affecting people.
Tan Ky Tan Quy Street is a main road at the Northwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, connecting Hoc Mon, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh districts and the inner city. This is also the exit from Terminal T3 (under construction), Tan Son Nhat airport to the West. |
In early November, along the Tan Ky Tan Quy road upgrade project near the Nuoc Den canal (Binh Tan district), dozens of electricity poles have not been cleared, blocking one side of the road from Ma Lo to Cong Hoa. |
The road expansion project started in March 2023, with a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND, and was expected to be completed in October this year but is behind schedule. |
After the handover of the site and technical trenches is completed, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation will synchronously relocate the existing power grid and bury the power works to ensure continued power supply to people in the area. |
However, up to now, due to problems with road clearance, many electric poles have not been able to be relocated. |
People living on the shared road, Tan Ky Tan Quy road was tripled to make it more convenient for people, but the delay caused the electric pole to be in the middle of the road, making it unsafe and dangerous to travel at night. |
Most of the houses along the road have been moved back, leaving the land empty in preparation for the project and the electric poles waiting to be relocated. |
The project is 2km long, 30m wide, and includes the following works: Construction of rainwater and wastewater drainage systems, trees, lighting, technical trenches, and complete traffic organization. |
The project to widen Tan Ky - Tan Quy road (section through Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City) to 30m will help solve traffic congestion on the main road leading to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, while enhancing regional traffic connections with Tan Son Nhat airport. |
