After visiting Hanoi and swimming in the Red River in March, swimmer Anh Vien was recommended by many people to compete with "Bêu Bé Bông", a TikToker quite famous for his series of videos swimming in the Red River regardless of hot or cold weather. With the challenge from the "Golden Girl" of Vietnamese swimming, "Bêu Bé Bông" happily accepted.
Anh Vien on her trip to the Red River in March
In the past time, both Anh Vien and Beu have continuously posted on their personal pages videos of their physical preparation for the friendly swimming competition to see who can swim the Red River better, scheduled to take place on May 13. However, to ensure safety, the competition could not take place, much to the regret of fans.
According to Channel 14 , the reason why the female gold medalist refused the competition was very reasonable: “Vien is very sorry to have to cancel the friendly swim with Mr. Beu at the Red River. Vien thanks everyone for their attention and following over the past week. The reason Vien gave was that she felt it was not really safe for everyone to participate in swimming in the Red River.
Anh Vien refused to compete for a very good reason.
Second, Vien was afraid that if too many people gathered, it would cause disorder and affect the people around. It would be impossible to know what the worst situation would be if too many people gathered in the Red River because the river environment was very dangerous.
Vien called to apologize to Mr. Beu and asked for permission to arrange a swimming exchange with him when the organizers are all present and the safety of the viewers is guaranteed...", Anh Vien posted a video to notify everyone about canceling the "match" with Tiktoker Beu Be Bong.
