On the afternoon of November 3, the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security announced that the authorities had just dismantled a large-scale prostitution ring operating in the Vietnamese showbiz world led by Huynh Thanh Thuan (born in 1990, in Kien Giang province, residing in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City).
Thuan works as a makeup artist and personal style consultant (stylist).
Recently, the Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security discovered that in the Vietnamese showbiz world, there are many forms of prostitution brokerage and buying and selling with sophisticated tricks.
From 2020 to present, the Criminal Police Department has established, successfully fought and destroyed many prostitution brokerage cases, prostitutes are contestants participating in beauty pageants, supermodels, actors, famous singers...
Prostitution brokers are often people directly involved in showbiz such as show organizers, managers, makeup artists, and personal style consultants.
Prostitution prices can be up to thousands of USD/tour depending on time and location.
On October 24, the Criminal Police Department presided over and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police to catch 3 couples in the act of prostitution.
The sex workers are VTTT (model, hot girl tiktoker), HPTH (model, hot Facebooker) and LHP (model, beauty queen of Asia).
At the same time, a couple was prevented from leaving the country for Singapore to engage in prostitution under the guise of foreign tourism. The prostitute was identified as TTL (singer).
Based on collected evidence, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency summoned and urgently searched the residences of 3 other subjects for prostitution brokerage, including: Huynh Thanh Thuan, Pham Do Nhat Duy (born in 1985, in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City), and Le Thi Thu Thao (born in 1985, in Kien Giang province).
At the investigation agency, the three above subjects confessed that they had been working as prostitution brokers since the beginning of 2023. Thuan, Thao, and Duy had brokered for many prostitutes and customers, illegally earning hundreds of millions of dong.
On October 24, when someone wanted to buy sex, Huynh Ngoc Thuan introduced TTL, LHP, HPTH as models, beauty queens, and singers working in showbiz.
The price for sex buyers is from 60 million VND to 100 million VND/domestic tour and 6,000 USD for an international tour for the same 2 days.
On October 30, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to prosecute the case of prostitution brokerage; decisions to prosecute the three defendants Huynh Thanh Thuan, Pham Do Nhat Duy and Le Thi Thu Thao.
Prosecuted 2 subjects for spreading 'spam' messages about gambling and prostitution
Hai Duong police have prosecuted and temporarily detained two subjects who spread a large number of text messages advertising gambling and prostitution websites with the aim of defrauding and appropriating property.
