Loc Ha mobilizes more than 670 billion VND to build schools to achieve the "dual goal"

To meet the requirements of teaching and learning in the new situation as well as to implement the criteria of schools in new rural construction, Loc Ha district (Ha Tinh) has focused on mobilizing resources to build and upgrade schools.

At the beginning of this school year, Thinh Loc Kindergarten renovated and upgraded the entire campus and classroom system to meet the increasing demands for childcare as well as the commune's efforts to achieve advanced NTM standards by the end of the year. Accordingly, all 14 classrooms and the head office were re-tiled and painted, the sanitary system was replaced, the garage was renovated, a new gate and fence on both sides was built, drainage ditches and flower beds were repaired... with a total cost of nearly 4.9 billion VND.

Mr. Truong Van Giap - Director of Khanh Linh Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company said: “Our unit undertakes the construction of the renovation and repair project of Thinh Loc Kindergarten with a committed time frame in the contract of 6 months. However, we have proactively coordinated well with the investor and related units, mobilized enough machinery, arranged nearly 30 workers to work daily on the construction site, so after only 2.5 months, we have completed 85% of the volume. Currently, the company is urgently speeding up the progress, ensuring the quality and aesthetics of the project so that it can be put into use in about 10 more days, about half the time ahead of schedule”.

To overcome the deterioration, meet the teaching requirements in the new situation and Ho Do commune aims to achieve advanced NTM standards (by the end of this year), Ho Do Primary School is also investing in repairing and upgrading the entire classroom system and the headmaster building with a total cost of nearly 15 billion VND. This project is invested by the Loc Ha District Construction Investment Management Board, started 1 month ago and is expected to be completed in the middle of next year. Currently, contractors are rushing to ensure progress.

In addition, many other localities in Loc Ha are currently investing in upgrading and renovating large-scale school systems such as: My Chau Secondary School (Thach Chau Commune) built a multi-functional building and repaired classrooms; Mai Phu Primary School repaired 14 classrooms; Binh An Kindergarten built 8 new classrooms and a semi-boarding kitchen; Hong Loc Primary School built 8 new functional rooms...

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Loc Ha district said: "To prepare for the new school year as well as improve the quality of schools, currently, the whole district has 6 schools that are investing in building additional large items with a total cost of more than 60 billion VND. The remaining kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools are also urgently repairing small items, repainting some classrooms, fences, and purchasing additional equipment with a total cost of about 1.2 billion VND".

To meet the teaching requirements of educational institutions in the area as well as to implement criterion No. 5 of the new rural commune and criterion 5.3 of the new rural district, Loc Ha district has focused on and allocated resources to build a system of spacious and synchronous schools. The Department of Education and Training has consulted and coordinated with authorities at all levels, parents' associations, and mobilized philanthropists to mobilize maximum resources to invest in construction, upgrading, and purchasing facilities to meet the requirements of national standard schools. Among them, there are many beautiful, spacious, and impressive schools such as: My Chau Secondary School, Mai Thuc Loan High School, Phu Luu Kindergarten, etc.

From 2011 to present, in conjunction with the construction of new rural areas, the People's Committee of Loc Ha district has directed localities and schools to mobilize more than 670 billion VND to invest in building schools. Thereby, helping 100% of schools complete planning, move 1 school to a new location, build 435 new buildings and classrooms (364 classrooms, 58 subject rooms, 19 libraries, 5 multi-purpose halls, 25 cafeterias and hundreds of other auxiliary buildings).

Thanks to the investment in construction, the scale and network of schools at all levels in Loc Ha have now been stabilized, suitable, and met the learning needs of students. Currently, all 35 schools at all levels in the area have met the standards of facilities.

The system of spacious schools has become a highlight in the new rural picture of Thach Chau commune.

However, in the process of building new rural areas, the district has mobilized internal resources and integrated programs and projects to build schools with the highest determination. Up to now, 100% of localities and schools in Loc Ha have standard facilities and classrooms, ensuring regular and continuous teaching and learning, meeting professional teaching needs as well as building and maintaining national standard schools".
