In recent days, information about the contract of Lisa and the members of the group BlackPink and YG Entertainment has received special attention from the public.

Lisa is said to not be renewing her contract with YG Entertainment.

In the latest development, on September 19, Sina quoted Kulture News as saying that a major American record label is willing to pay Lisa hundreds of millions of dollars, more than the 38 million USD (more than 927 billion VND) that YG Entertainment offered to keep the female rapper.

The contract covers six albums and gives her full control over her music, film, television, fashion and performance careers. This is not just a personal contract but a comprehensive artist contract.

Sources revealed that Lisa is considering signing a contract with an American company.

"Lisa will own the master tapes of all the music she records in the future (about 6 new albums).

She has creative control over her music and career without fear of constraints or restrictions.

This deal also paves the way for her comprehensive development in the entertainment industry: music, Hollywood movies, video games, fashion and lifestyle," Sina revealed.

Previously, on September 14, Korean media reported that Lisa refused to renew her contract with YG Entertainment.

On September 15, YG Entertainment responded: "We are discussing a contract extension with Lisa and the related rumors have not been officially confirmed yet."

Currently, there is no official information about the contract of the four BlackPink girls.

What would happen to YG Entertainment if they didn't renew their contract with BlackPink?

According to Munhwa Daily, YG Entertainment's stock continues to plummet as information about the contract with the group BlackPink has not been finalized.

YG Entertainment's stocks have plummeted in recent days.

Specifically, in the trading session on September 18, YG Entertainment's shares hit a price lower than the average of 78,000 won (more than 1.4 million VND) per share, down 1.64% compared to the previous trading day.

This decline is believed to be related to rumors that YG failed to renew Lisa's contract.

In fact, BlackPink is known as YG's "golden goose". According to Korean media, if YG really leaves, YG will suffer heavy losses.

According to WealthyPresence , since their debut in 2016, BlackPink has quickly earned hundreds of millions of dollars from album sales, streaming music, and touring.

In 2022, the group sold 2.8 million albums. During the period from 2018-2022, they sold a total of 5.25 million records in the Korean market alone.

Each album costs around 18-35 USD (440,000-854,000 VND), depending on the different versions. In addition to the two joint albums, each member's individual products also set a series of records.

As of the end of August 2023, according to data from Touring Data, revenue from the group's Born Pink world tour recorded more than 250 million USD (nearly 6,100 billion VND) with the participation of about 1.75 million attendees, exceeding the target initially set by YG for the group.

Nearly 60 of Blackpink's concerts in various countries are sold out. On average, each night, the group will earn 4 million USD (nearly 97.6 billion VND) from more than 20,000 spectators.

Thanks to that, Born Pink is the first tour by a female artist in Asia to have revenue exceeding the 100 million USD mark (nearly 2,440 billion VND).

In 2021, despite the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, YG Entertainment announced that it achieved $7.1 million in operating profit in the first quarter, mainly thanks to online music sales and show tickets.

In 2023, when the world economy fell into crisis after the pandemic, YG Entertainment's revenue and profit in the first quarter of 2023 still reached 157.5 billion won (more than 2,750 billion VND) and 36.5 billion won (638 billion VND), respectively.

Revenue and profit increased by 108.6% and 497.6% respectively compared to the same period last year. According to Newsis, YG Entertainment's revenue and profit in the first quarter of 2023 still reached 157.5 billion won (over 2,750 billion VND) and 36.5 billion won (638 billion VND), respectively.

In this context, researcher at Kiwoom Securities - Nam Soo Lee suggested that YG should focus on the comeback potential, the success of solo albums of other members, such as Jisoo and the prospect of expanding the artist model with groups TREASURE, Baby Monsters...
