On March 17, Major Trieu Thanh Dat, an expert from the Department of Training, Ministry of Public Security, said that this year, police schools will still organize their own capacity assessment exams to serve the regular admission to 8 universities and academies. This method accounts for 80% of the total enrollment quota for the schools. The exam schedule is expected to be about 10 days after the high school graduation exam.
Regarding the exam location, candidates will take the aptitude test at the school they register for. The structure and formula for calculating admission scores are the same as last year.

Regarding admission, Mr. Dat said that police schools will use two components (including the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test score and the high school graduation exam score) as admission scores.
The Ministry of Public Security's competency assessment test includes both multiple-choice and essay sections. The multiple-choice section, in addition to the subject content, also tests logical thinking, judgment skills, and situation handling, in conjunction with the specific training requirements of the police industry. The essay section tests knowledge of two subjects: Math and Literature.
The formula for calculating admission scores of the Ministry of Public Security is as follows: Admission score = Total score of three graduation exam subjects *2/5 + Assessment test score *3/5 + Priority points according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training + Bonus points for excellent students at the national level.
This year, the Ministry of Public Security plans to recruit 2,150 full-time university training positions distributed to 8 affiliated universities and academies (an increase of 150 positions compared to 2023).

Admissions to public security schools this year will remain basically the same as in 2023, divided by region. Schools will maintain the same 3 admission methods:
Method 1: Direct admission according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security (10% of target).
Method 2: Direct admission combining international language certificates with high school academic results (10% of the target). This method only applies to the International Academy, the People's Public Security Political Academy, in the Security and Police Affairs majors.
Method 3: Combine the 2024 high school graduation exam results with the assessment test results of the Ministry of Public Security (80% of the target).
