For the first time, Central Retail Vietnam Group cooperated with localities to organize the Seafood Festival at all GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarket systems nationwide.

Accordingly, the event officially opened on October 5 at GO! An Lac Supermarket (Ho Chi Minh City) and took place simultaneously on GO!, Big C, Tos Market systems nationwide until October 20, 2023.

The event aims to introduce to consumers famous seafood from regions across the country, typically: Crabs and shrimp from Ca Mau province; basa fish from An Giang and Dong Thap; Tri An lake fish (Dong Nai); oysters from Nha Trang and Ha Long; Nha Trang squid; Thai Binh clams; Da river fish (Northern provinces)...

Mr. Jose Mestre - Commercial Director of Fresh Food Industry - Central Retail Vietnam Group - said that the highlight of this event is that for the first time, Central Retail Vietnam organizes the biggest seafood festival of the year to bring fresh, diverse, quality seafood from different regions across the country at great preferential prices.

“We hope that during the event , consumers shopping at GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarkets will be able to enjoy famous seafood products that are always popular and of export quality to many countries around the world,” said Mr. Jose Mestre.

In order to stimulate seafood purchases through modern retail channels, on this occasion, the Organizing Committee will apply special attractive promotions with products that are popular with customers such as: Nam Can Ca Mau crab, tiger prawn, ocean squid, Thai Binh clam, Dong Thap basa fish, freshwater fish from the Da River hydropower area and imported seafood products such as: Norwegian salmon, brown crab, Indian snails...

Among them, the program "Every day a shocking price" with a promotion of up to 40% in the first week and the attractive flat-price sales program stand out.

On this occasion, visitors to GO! and Big C supermarkets will have the opportunity to participate in entertainment programs and try famous seafood products for free: Ca Mau ecological forest shrimp, Ca Mau Nam Can crab, fish cakes, squid, etc.

At the same time, consumers have the opportunity to shop at savings of up to 27% on fresh salmon fillets, grade 1 crabs, shrimp, squid, etc.

In addition, daily dishes are on sale up to 25% off such as: Thai hotpot, pineapple seafood fried rice, seafood teriyaki stir-fried noodles, crispy fried salmon fillet...

As one of the typical localities participating in the event, the leader of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province said: "In April 2022, the purchasing department of GO!, Big C, Tops Market supermarkets under Central Retail Vietnam Group participated in the program of the series of events to promote OCOP products in Ca Mau province, the event "U Minh Forest Fragrance" and highly appreciated the 3-star OCOP products of Ca Mau province such as: Salted Ba Khia, ecological dried shrimp, ecological crab meat, Nam Can sea crab, bon bon melon... We hope that this event will be a good opportunity to promote the brand, creating stable output for seafood products of Ca Mau province".

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, seafood exports in September 2023 continued to show signs of recovery with an estimated value of 850 million USD, down 1% compared to the previous month and down 0.8% compared to September 2022, the lowest decrease since November 2022.

In the first 9 months of 2023, Vietnam's seafood exports reached 6.64 billion USD, down 21.7% over the same period in 2022.

The Seafood Festival taking place from October 5 to October 20, 2023 will contribute to stimulating domestic consumption in a market of 100 million people, reducing pressure on dependence on exports.
