The Office of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee said that Lao Cai province was assigned by the Prime Minister to complete 7,600 social housing apartments by the end of 2030, of which 1,980 apartments will be completed in 2025 and 100% of the apartments will be completed in the following years according to Decision No. 444/QD-TTg.
Up to now, Lao Cai province has implemented construction and completed procedures to prepare for the commencement of 6 social housing projects with a total of 4,669 apartments, equal to 61.5% of the project target.

Currently, the province is implementing 3 projects with a total of 1,580/3,685 social housing units for low-income people in the Northwest reserve area of Sa Pa town; Social housing in the residential area adjacent to B6 extension in Bac Lenh ward, Lao Cai city; Social housing in the left bank of the Red River in Van Hoa commune, Lao Cai city.
It is expected that by the end of 2025, Lao Cai province will complete about 1,261 social housing units.
Currently, Lao Cai province is completing procedures to prepare to start construction of 3 more social housing projects in Lao Cai city, including the Lam Vien apartment complex social housing project in Nam Cuong ward, the Dien Bien street social housing project in Coc Leu ward, the Hoang Sao street social housing project in Pom Han ward, with a total of about 984 apartments on a land area of 4.46 hectares. At the same time, the province is also preparing legal procedures for 2 projects with an area of 5.56 hectares to build social housing in Kim Thanh urban area and the social housing project in Nam Cuong ward, Lao Cai city.
It is expected that by the end of 2026, Lao Cai province will attract investment and start construction of all projects to ensure that they meet the demand; determined to strive to complete and exceed targets and progress by the end of 2029, reaching the finish line 1 year ahead of the Government's assigned Project, meeting the housing needs of low-income people and industrial park workers in the province.
