On behalf of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City, there were Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Association, the Executive Committee of the Association, leaders of a number of agencies, units, enterprises, and a large number of Nghe An people studying, living and working in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces.
"THE HOMELAND CALLS THE COUNTRYMEN TO RESPOND"
The conference to re-establish the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City and launch the Executive Committee of the Association was held in September 2022. Since then, with the attention, guidance and support of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the province and the spirit of solidarity, unanimity and determination to contribute of the comrades in the Association, the support of Nghe An people in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, the Association has promoted its role well, actively implemented many exchange programs, helped and shared among members; implemented many practical and meaningful activities, especially towards the homeland; implemented the right purpose: Connecting Nghe An people living in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces; connecting the Nghe An community far from home with their homeland.
Along with the Provincial Association, up to now, there have been 16 districts and towns with Associations including: Nam Dan, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Anh Son, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Quynh Luu - Hoang Mai, Hung Nguyen, Thanh Chuong, Nghi Loc - Cua Lo, Yen Thanh, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong.
Organizing district-level associations contributes to creating connections and close coordination with the Provincial Association of Fellow Countrymen to carry out many exchange activities, help and share among members, and effectively organize activities towards the homeland.
In 2023, the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City had many meaningful and practical activities towards the homeland such as: Sponsoring 100 houses worth 5 billion VND to support the Program to mobilize support for building houses for the poor and people with difficult housing circumstances in the province in the period of 2023 - 2025.
The Association sponsored 2.5 billion VND to build a new Bac Ly 2 Primary School in Buoc village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district, which was inaugurated and put into use in September 2023 and was associated with providing financial support for meals, scholarships, computer labs, uniforms, and school supplies for 320 students worth 200 million VND. The Association also supported the construction of 6 gratitude houses in Quy Chau and Que Phong worth 300 million VND; and presented gifts to units and localities worth nearly 100 million VND.
Over the past year, the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City has worked with a delegation from the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center and the two sides will sign a cooperation agreement to support investor introduction, connection, exchange of ideas and cooperation.
In addition to the activities of the Provincial Association, the District and Town Associations are also quite active, organizing annual meetings, establishing clubs, cultural and sports events for fellow countrymen to meet and participate in activities; at the same time, mobilizing contributions to build the homeland, ...
Regarding the 2024 operating plan, Mr. Phan Dinh Tue - Vice President of Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City said: The Association will continue to strengthen the Executive Committee, build the activities of the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee more and more effectively; promote the spirit of dedication and support in the activities of the Association, fellow countrymen, especially expanding membership; continue programs and projects to support the hometown; and support especially difficult cases in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the same time, strengthen the close, regular and timely coordination relationship with the fellow countrymen associations of districts and towns in Ho Chi Minh City; support localities to establish fellow countrymen associations at the district level, first of all in districts and cities such as: Con Cuong, Vinh, Nghia Dan;...
The association will also organize golf and tennis tournaments, establish Nghe An football fan association, organize annual football tournaments and traditional art programs of Nghe An; at the same time, strive to organize programs to celebrate: Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day, Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Vietnam People's Army Founding Day; Day for the poor, encouraging learning...
Accompany and coordinate with the District Associations to support and assist fellow countrymen in especially difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City, neighboring provinces and in their hometown.

In the warm atmosphere of fellow countrymen, on behalf of the provincial leaders and the working delegation, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his joy and excitement when attending the event "Meeting on the occasion of the Year of the Dragon 2024" of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City; sent his respectful greetings, sincere greetings, and best wishes.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung congratulated the very substantial and effective results that the Association has achieved in the past year since its re-establishment; especially the basic achievement of the set goals: Gathering Nghe An people in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces; connecting Nghe An people in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces with their homeland.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung informed the Association and people of Nghe An province in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces about the province's outstanding results in 2023.
Accordingly, in 2023, despite the difficult context, with the spirit of solidarity and high unity in the political system and the joint efforts of the people and business community, the province achieved 25/28 targets.
The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the province reached 7.14% in 26/63 provinces and cities. The scale is currently ranked 10/63 provinces and cities. Budget revenue in 2023 is the second consecutive year to exceed the 20,000 billion VND mark, reaching more than 21,000 billion VND.
A particular bright spot in Nghe An's economic picture is investment attraction reaching over 58,000 billion VND, 1.7 times higher than the set target, of which foreign investment attraction continues to be a bright spot with over 1.6 billion USD, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities.
Culture and society continued to have outstanding results. Especially in social security, the province launched a program to mobilize support for building houses for people and those with housing difficulties, and last year alone, more than 7,500 houses were built, including contributions and support from the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City. National defense and security were stable and peaceful; foreign affairs activities were vibrant and achieved many results.
In particular, for administrative reform work in the political system from province to district, a Steering Committee for administrative reform has been established with the Party Secretary as Head of the Steering Committee, and at the provincial level, the Provincial Party Secretary as Head of the Steering Committee.
Accordingly, the province has implemented the viewpoint that any agency or locality that does not change administrative reform will have its people transferred; thereby, administrative reform work has had many positive changes, especially improving the province's investment environment.
In 2023, the province completed the summary of Resolution 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo and continued to be issued by the Politburo Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 on the construction and development of Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, and was directly disseminated by the Secretariat with the participation of more than 42,000 cadres and party members from the province to the grassroots level. The Prime Minister approved the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, and on January 13, the planning was announced.
Regarding the tasks for 2024, in the context of many forecast difficulties, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity, the province is determined to strive to achieve development goals with a growth target of 9-10%.
At the same time, the province focuses on a number of major and key contents, especially effectively implementing Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW of the Politburo, especially advising the National Assembly to issue new specific mechanisms and policies for Nghe An; at the same time, implementing the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The province is simultaneously implementing three major projects, including: the project to expand the Southeast Economic Zone; the project to expand the boundaries and urban space of Vinh city; the project to arrange administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023-2025; and at the same time, implementing two strategic projects: starting the construction of Cua Lo deep-water seaport and carrying out procedures to upgrade and expand Vinh International Airport.
Focus on implementing key transport infrastructure investment projects and industrial park infrastructure investment projects in the Southeast Economic Zone; promote administrative reform with the motto of "choosing key tasks, taking drastic actions"; improve the investment and business environment, maintain the position in the top 10 localities attracting the largest FDI in the country; implement cultural and social goals, especially social security work such as building houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that with the enthusiasm and responsibility of the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee, the Nghe An Association will continue to operate effectively, have new developments, and especially continue to have activities towards the homeland of Nghe An.
On the occasion of the New Year 2024, preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung sent to the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An people working and studying in the city named after Uncle Ho and the southern provinces the best wishes, prosperity, good health, peace, happiness, and many victories; especially the activities of the Association will be more successful.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his appreciation for the sentiments of the provincial leaders and his hometown; congratulated the province's achievements in the past year; and shared that he will continue to improve the effectiveness of the Association's activities. With the spirit of "when the homeland calls, the Association responds", the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City will strive to continue to have effective and practical activities towards the homeland.
Responding to the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary to support and help poor households celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, promoting the spirit of mutual love and spreading the good cultural features of Nghe An, the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City donated 500 gifts, worth 250 million VND.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 groups and 5 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the activities of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City.
