On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), on the morning of May 6, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths, visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
Attending the funeral were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai.
Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, National Assembly Vice Chairwomen, Deputy Prime Ministers, and many leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and organizations attended the memorial service.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the delegation expressed their infinite gratitude and respectfully remembered his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of our Party and nation. He devoted his whole life to the people and the country, leading our Party and people to glorious victories.
The delegation's wreath bears the inscription: "Forever grateful to the great President Ho Chi Minh".
The victory of the resistance war against the French colonialists, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu Victory - the victory of the passionate patriotism, indomitable will and resilience of the Vietnamese people, forged over thousands of years of history; was the victory of the independent, correct and creative resistance and military lines of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh.
The 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory is an occasion for us to be even more proud of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, of the great President Ho Chi Minh who led the Vietnamese revolution to overcome all storms and reach the shore of glory. The historic Dien Bien Phu Victory will forever be a source of pride and a great source of strength to encourage our entire Party, people and army to strive to successfully implement the Platform for National Construction in the Transitional Period to Socialism (supplemented and developed in 2011), the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, to arouse and realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.
Next, the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs Memorial on Bac Son Street.
In a solemn atmosphere, the Party and State leaders paid tribute to the nation's outstanding sons who fought bravely and sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people. The wreath of the delegation bore the inscription: "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs".
On the same morning, delegations from the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense; Central Public Security Party Committee - Ministry of Public Security; Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee... came to lay wreaths, visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and commemorate heroic martyrs.
