Leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department directly grasp and remove difficulties for businesses

(HQ Online) - In order to develop the Customs - Business partnership in depth and substance, on the afternoon of February 20, the leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department directly worked with the companies of Trina Solar Group in Thai Nguyen province.

Speaking at the meeting, Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung said: Currently, in the area managed by the unit (Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen provinces), there are about 31 industrial parks (IPs) with an area of over 12,000 hectares. According to the plan, the number and scale of IPs will continue to increase in the coming time.

“The number of businesses is increasing rapidly, and the volume of imported and exported goods is increasing, creating requirements and pressure in the management work of the Customs agency to both meet the management requirements according to the provisions of law and at the same time facilitate international trade activities,” Director Tran Duc Hung emphasized.

To complete the assigned political tasks, as well as meet the requirements of local economic and social development, Bac Ninh Customs Department continues to promote administrative reform, modernization, shortening the time for customs clearance of import and export goods, especially the application of modern information technology systems.

In addition, Bac Ninh Customs Department promotes the implementation of activities related to the development of Customs - Business partnership and the Pilot Program to support businesses to voluntarily comply with customs laws. Thereby, the unit proactively grasps business information, propagates, supports the business community to learn and properly implement legal regulations related to import and export activities, helping businesses gradually improve the level of compliance, reduce the rate of declarations requiring document checks as well as physical inspection of goods.

The activities of Bac Ninh Customs Department not only concretize the reform and modernization goals of the Customs sector but also contribute to improving the provincial competitiveness index in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen provinces.

According to Director Tran Duc Hung, in the first days of 2024, Bac Ninh Customs Department has focused on directing its affiliated and subordinate units to continue to pay attention to creating maximum favorable conditions, reducing customs clearance time for import and export goods of the business community, contributing to promoting production, business and economic development.

With the above policy, the leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department came to work first in the New Year of Giap Thin 2024 to grasp the difficulties, obstacles and propose recommendations of Solar Group companies in Thai Nguyen to promptly remove, guide and create more favorable conditions for enterprises in developing production, business and import-export activities in particular.

At the meeting, a representative of Solar Group (a Chinese FDI enterprise) said: The Group is the world's leading provider of solar energy solutions. The Group's first factory in Thai Nguyen will be put into operation in 2021 at Yen Binh Industrial Park, Thai Nguyen.

To date, the Group has been granted Investment Certificates for 3 projects, all located in Yen Binh Industrial Park with a total investment capital of 932 million USD and a total area of over 11 hectares (of which 2 projects have been put into operation). Solar Group's factories in Thai Nguyen produce photovoltaic cells (solar panels), solar modules; and produce silicon bars and monocrystalline silicon panels.

Of which, the third project was just granted an Investment Certificate on February 19, 2024 with a capital of 454 million USD.

According to Mr. LU SONGBO, Import-Export Director of Solar Group: During the implementation of projects and production, business and import-export activities in Thai Nguyen, the enterprise has received a lot of support and facilitation from the Bac Ninh Customs Department and Thai Nguyen Customs Branch (Bac Ninh Customs Department). Especially the timely consultation, guidance and removal of difficulties and obstacles so that the enterprise can comply with the law and quickly clear goods.

“The facilitation of the Bac Ninh Customs Department is an important driving force for the Group to decide to soon increase investment capital in Thai Nguyen. We hope that in the coming time, the Customs agency will continue to accompany and support the enterprise to develop stable and sustainable production and business activities in Vietnam,” Mr. LU SONGBO expressed.
