Teachers from Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, Lang Son city and Vu Le High School, Bac Son district attended an inter-school professional activity on the topic of applying AI technology in teaching and learning.

Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, Lang Son City is one of the first schools to apply AI to lectures, creating new and vivid learning experiences for students, helping them interact with learning content in a more interesting, engaging and intuitive way.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu, a Physics teacher, said: AI tools have helped me design lectures; build test question banks, and evaluate students' abilities quite accurately...

At the same time, applying AI in teaching helps me save time and effort in preparing teaching materials. Currently, I am using some AI tools and algorithms such as: Gemini AI and ChatGPT, but I use ChatGPT the most.

In addition to supporting the preparation of main lecture content, creating additional materials such as exercises, discussion questions and presentation slides is also an important part of AI application by teachers.

Teachers also use AI to translate teaching materials into many different languages ​​to meet students' needs; design engaging tasks for diverse and rich lectures such as: creating games related to lecture content, creating group activities suitable for lecture content and learning objectives, creating exercises to help students consolidate knowledge and skills learned.

Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Chinh, Principal of Cao Loc District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, said: The use of AI to support teaching is actively implemented by teachers.

However, for school teachers, the biggest difficulty is the cost to maintain and operate AI applications, because they are all high-cost tools, and free use has limited search time.

Last September, the school coordinated with Chu Van An High School for the Gifted to organize an inter-school professional activity with the topic "Some ways to use AI in management, teaching and learning", thereby improving the AI ​​skills of teachers in the school, and the application of AI in teaching is used more proficiently by teachers.

It is known that not only the above 2 schools but also the remaining 35 high schools in the province have proactively applied AI in teaching activities and received enthusiastic response from a large number of teachers and students.

Le Gia Han, class 12A4, Viet Bac High School, Lang Son city shared: Since the school and teachers applied AI in teaching, I find the lessons become more lively and attractive.

In addition, the AI ​​application has created conditions for me to find a lot of good documents for my studies, helping me find the most ways to solve difficult exercises.

Assessing the role of AI in teaching, Mr. Dang Hong Cuong, Head of the High School Education Department, Department of Education and Training said: Applying AI in teaching is not a mandatory activity in the high school education program.

However, to improve the quality of education in the era of Industry 4.0, schools have proactively applied AI to effectively support teaching, typically: Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, Viet Bac High School (Lang Son city); Vu Le High School (Bac Son district) ...

In the coming time, we encourage schools to further replicate good practices in applying AI technology to support teaching.
