(CLO) On December 12, in Hanoi , Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company organized the launching ceremony of the program "Build Tet 2025" with practical material and spiritual support to more than 18,500 workers nationwide.
Speaking at the press conference, journalist Phan Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, said that in recent times, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized many social and charity activities, contributing to spreading meaningful stories and attracting more organizations, businesses and individuals to participate in common activities for the community.

This is the second year that Nhan Dan Newspaper has coordinated with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (CTD) to implement the program "Building Tet" to bring a warm and joyful Tet to workers, demonstrate the humane and sharing culture of Vietnamese people, and spread the message of gratitude to those who have contributed to building iconic projects.
This year's "Build Tet" program has many new features. In particular, the number of workers receiving gifts will increase from 17,000 in 2024 to 18,500 workers during Tet 2025, expanding to the Central region; awarding scholarships to children of workers working on construction sites. "Through the "Build Tet" program, Nhan Dan Newspaper wants to inspire and spread to accompanying units. Hopefully, the program will continue to receive contributions from many units on a large scale across the country, so that the program can develop sustainably and contribute more to society," journalist Phan Van Hung shared.

The "Build Tet 2025" program will start from December 16, 2024 to January 2025 at construction sites in 3 regions of the country, in which key activities will take place in Hung Yen province, Da Nang city, Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong province... The Organizing Committee will present more than 18,500 Tet gifts to construction workers, environmental sanitation workers... to encourage and motivate workers who work far from home and do silent work; especially workers whose hometowns are in localities affected by severe storms and floods in the past year.
Sharing at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Trinh Thuy Trang, Deputy General Director of Coteccons shared: "The Coteccons Tet Construction Program wishes to convey a profound message of gratitude and the efforts of the workers working hard on the construction site. Accordingly, the focus of this year's program is scholarships for workers' families who meet the criteria. This will be a gift to help build the foundation of their children's dreams, which is also the foundation of the greatest motivation for the workers - the fathers and mothers".

This year, Nhan Dan Newspaper and Coteccons will also organize Tet events with many activities such as free health check-ups; giving Tet gifts; taking souvenir photos; haircuts for construction workers at key projects of Coteccons, Unicons Construction Investment Company Limited across the three regions. All these activities aim to bring rare moments of relaxation and care to workers during the busy days of progressing on construction sites as the Tet holiday approaches.
According to the General Statistics Office, the number of people working in the industrial and construction sector is 17 million, accounting for 33.0%. The average income of workers is about 7.6 million VND/month in the third quarter of 2024. On average, each worker works 8-12 hours/day and 6-7 days/week. Construction workers and sanitation workers are also the groups that receive the least attention in society.

Ms. Nguyen Trinh Thu Trang shared that at Coteccons and Unicons, the average income of workers is at least 12 million VND/month. With the viewpoint of "a happy construction site is a safe construction site", last year, the company spent more than 26,000 hours training safety skills for more than 30,000 workers. Thanks to that, the company has more than 41.6 million hours of safe construction. At the same time, Coteccons also focuses on investing in advanced technology and techniques to support construction workers to complete their work effectively, minimizing risks related to labor safety.
