On the evening of December 15, at Hai Phong City Theater, the Vietnam Musicians Association coordinated with the Hai Phong City People's Committee to organize the 2024 Vietnam Music Awards ceremony.

Speaking at the program, Musician Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said that this was the first time the award ceremony was held in Hai Phong, and emphasized that the Vietnam Musicians Association's Music Awards honor musicians, artists and outstanding musical creations in the fields of composition, performance, critical theory and training.

The award contributes to continuing to encourage musicians, artists, music critics, and music educators to create and contribute to the country's music in particular and the country's cultural and artistic development in general.

The music awards of the Vietnam Musicians Association are also the accumulation of creative artistic achievements of each musician and artist as a basis for progressing to higher awards of the Party and State in the field of literature and art.

According to Musician Duc Trinh, this is the first year that the Vietnam Musicians Association has awarded the Golden Sol Award to honor musical products of high artistic value and individuals with outstanding contributions to the development of advanced Vietnamese music imbued with national identity.

In his welcoming speech, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam shared that the 2024 Vietnam Music Awards Ceremony held in Hai Phong is an opportunity for singers, musicians, theorists, critics... to learn more about the land and people of the Port City and will soon have new works about the city.

Hai Phong City hopes to receive many new musical works on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025).

According to information from the Organizing Committee, this year there are 241 works by 241 authors who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association from all provinces and cities across the country submitted to participate.

Specifically, the Vocal Music genre has 202 works (of which 171 are Songs; 29 are Children's Songs, and 2 are Art Songs); 23 are Instrumental Music works (Symphony 3, Chamber 11, Choir 4, Acappella 3, Epic 1, Vocal Suite 1); 16 theoretical works, including monographs, collections-researches, textbooks and collections of articles on music; and 59 performance programs of each category (MV 32 works; Album 13; Live concert 14).

The Art Council has worked seriously, scientifically , thoroughly and impartially to select quality works and projects to propose to the Organizing Committee for awards.

The Organizing Committee awarded 4 A prizes including: 3 A prizes for songs. 3 works won A prizes including "Light up Vietnam," author Le Tu Minh (City 4, Ho Chi Minh); "Hai Phong in my heart," author Duy Thai (Hai Phong); "Intoxicating dream," author Tran Quoc Dat (Army) and 1 A prize in the category of Collected Books - Research with the work "Nguyen Dinh Thi with Music" by author Nguyen Thi Minh Chau (Hanoi).

The organizing committee also awarded 19 B prizes and 18 C prizes to authors with other excellent works.

The Organizing Committee also awarded 3 Golden Sol prizes to the MV “Nhat bai thien dia” by author The Flob (Ho Chi Minh City) and director Nguyen Minh Quang; Album “Nhung con song ngon” by author Tran Duc Minh (Hanoi), singer Ha Tran; Live concert “Co doi lan” by author Duc Tri (Ho Chi Minh City), and also awarded 2 Silver Sol prizes to authors with other excellent works.

The Golden Sol Award was presented to two individuals, including Excellent Singer Tung Duong and Dedicated Artist Tran Manh Tuan./.
